It had been a month after the events of Woodbury and the Governor. Now, everything was peaceful and right here at the prison. Rhea felt at peace and her family was finally safe.
She had currently been helping Carol prepare for breakfast as the other residents sat at the benches. Her father was making his way towards her as she flipped bacon on the grill.
"Morning, Daryl." The doctor from Woodbury greeted to Rhea's father.
"What's up, Dr. S?" A bunch of 'Morning, Daryl's' were heard from all over the place. "Smells good." Daryl said once he made his way to Carol and Rhea.
"Just so you know, I liked you first." Carol joked, making the younger Dixon to chuckle.
"Stop." Daryl said, grabbing a bowl and eating some of the bacon "You know Rick brought in a lot of them, too."
Daryl was right, Rick had brought in a lot of people from Woodbury. He brought in the whole town.
"Not recently, I don't think." Rhea said, wiping her hands on a rag.
"Give the stranger sanctuary, keeping people fed, you're gonna have to learn to live with the love." Carol told him.
Daryl nodded "Right."
"I need you guys to see something. Patrick, you want to take over?" Carol asked a boy around who was around Carl's age.
"Yes, ma'am." Patrick accepted and replayced her position on the stove.
When Rhea and Daryl went to walked away Patrick called for the Dixon's. "Mr. Dixon, Rhea. I just wanted to thank you both for bringing that deer back yesterday. It was a real treat sir and I'd be honored to shake your hand."
Daryl looked at the boy, before he licked each one of his fingers before firmly grasping Patrick's hand and shaking his hand. Rhea rolled her eyes and began to walk with Daryl.
"About today." Carol started to the Dixon's "I don't know if we're gonna be able to spare a lot of people for the run."
"That place is good to go. We're gonna move on it."
"Yeah." Carol said and moved to the side and showed them many walkers at the fences "The thing is, we had a pretty big buildup overnight. Dozens more towards tower three. It's getting as bad as last month. They don't spread out anymore."
"It's because of us sitting here." Rhea stated "The more of us here the more we're drawing them."
"You get enough of those damn fence-clingers, they start to herd up." Daryl suggested.
"Pushing against the fences again. It's manageable, but unless we get ahead of it, not for long. Sorry, Pookie." Carol teased the older Dixon, making Rhea laugh.
Daryl rolled his eyes at the stupid nickname, before he looked towards his daughter "Come on, Rhea."
Rhea and her father started walking towards the gray truck they were going to use on the run. She saw Zach, Beth's boyfriend and Beth talking.
