SUMMARY:
Y/N reveals something to her parents and the conversation doesn't end well. She goes to her best friend, Spencer, for comfort, and he's more than happy to provide all the comfort she needs.——————————
Y/N wasn't sure how her visit with her parents was going to go. Her parents were extremely Christian (her mom more so than her dad), often insisting that her phone remain in her childhood bedroom when she visited them for the holidays. They preferred bible study, over watching TV, which was normal considering they believed TVs to be spawns of satan, indoctrinating young children with sinful messages.
Over the Christmas holidays, Y/N - along with the whole BAU team - requested time off. This Christmas would possibly change her relationship with her parents. Y/N hoped that by the time Christmas was over, her parents would still love her for who she was.
Since Y/N was a child, she had considered herself straight. She liked males. She imagined herself one day marrying the man of her dreams and settling down so they could create a huge family. But at 25 years old, Y/N made a shocking - yet welcomed - discovery. She met a woman named Emily Prentiss. After working with the BAU for a year and a half, Emily joined the team and Y/N developed a crush on the raven-haired woman. Months after starting a friendship with Emily, Y/N realised that she didn't just like males. She also liked females. She had discovered that she was Bisexual.
Unfortunately, Y/N was wrong, as she ended up at her best friend, Spencer's, apartment at 11:45 PM, with tears rolling down her cheeks on Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve, 2 PM.
Y/N pulled up to her parents home in Nashville, Tennessee. Y/N was tired after the 9 hour and 34 minute drive from Stafford, Virginia. Luckily for her, she had at least 24 hours worth of True Crime podcasts ready to listen to. Was it wise to listen to those types of podcasts, when her job required her to profile serial killers and other criminals in order to catch them? Probably not. But she didn't care. She needed some time to herself before she ended up having to endure another Christmas with overbearing Christian themes.
The True Crime podcasts also distracted her from the news she'd reveal sometime between her arrival at her parents house, and leaving once Christmas was over. Nerves made her whole body shake as her balled up hand made contact with her parents front door. She had barely knocked when the door swung open, her parents standing in front of her with smiles on their faces.
"Merry Christmas Eve, darling. Are you attending the 6 PM Christmas Eve service with us?" Her father immediately bombarding her.
"Merry Christmas Eve, mom, dad. As for the service, I'm not entirely sure I'd want to go. There is a possibility that I'd need to leave because of work, and I wouldn't want to interrupt." Y/N tried to let them down lightly, putting her bags in her old room.
"Right. Because your job is more important than spending time in God's embrace with your parents on Christmas Eve." Her mom rolled her eyes.
"Mom." Y/N exhaled.
"Susan, our daughter's job is important. God put her on this Earth to cleanse the land of the evil that satan has disguised to trick us." Y/N's dad warned. Y/N didn't bother saying anything about her dad's comment. If he wanted to explain her job in his own way, he was free to.
"Yes, yes, you're right David." Her mom nodded, accepting his answer.
By 7 PM, the entire church congregation was in Y/N's parents home. Food was shared, stories were told. Almost every person who came into contact with Y/N immediately asked about her job, and how she couldn't be frightened while working for the FBI. Multiple long explanations later, the gathering was over. Her parents had started cleaning up the house, and started other preparations for the Christmas lunch happening the next day (as a lot of family and friends would be coming over).
