SUMMARY:
Spencer meets his son's teacher, Ms. Y/L/N, and their relationship is changed after one innocent kiss.

——————————

There was always one student who kept their grades up throughout the whole year. In Y/N Y/L/N's 3rd grade class, that student was Adam Reid. The 7-year-old boy was extremely smart. Y/N wasn't surprised by Adam's smarts, considering she did a little research into his father. From the limited information accessible in the FBI file found with a Google search of his name, Y/N discovered that Adam's father, Dr. Spencer Reid, was an FBI profiler with 3 PhD's and 2 BAs, aged 35. It was through Adam's word of mouth that more information about his father became known to Y/N, for example, Dr. Reid's IQ being 187, his eidetic memory, and his ability to read 20,000 words per minute. Of course, Y/N waited for the day she'd meet the man, whether it was through a parent-teacher conference, or maybe a school drop-off and/or pick-up.

She never expected to meet him during a meeting about his son's grades being low.

"Hello, Dr. Reid. I'm Y/N Y/L/N, Adam's teacher." Y/N introduced herself.

"Call me Spencer please." He insisted.

"Okay, Spencer. It seems that your son's grades have fallen significantly since the start of the first semester. Of course, there could simply be some miscommunication during class, but considering his previous scores from not only my class, but previous years, it seems as if there might be a more...personal issue inhibiting his learning, thus lowering his grade." Y/N suggested, trying not to accuse Dr. Reid of any wrongdoing.

"His grades being low is certainly news to me. He comes home every day and completes his homework. He has been handing it in?" Spencer questioned.

"Actually...no. His explanations for his lack of homework range from late nights to rushed mornings." Y/N shook her head.

"Considering he is only 7 years old, I assume you understand that his explanations are nothing but excuses?" He asked.

"I do. But, I just wanted to mention his grades and lack of homework to you. I hoped that maybe there was an issue at home that could be resolved." Y/N nodded.

"Of course. I try to keep on top of his school work as much as possible. I want him to have as good an education as I got, although my education was certainly...rushed." He chuckled.

"Do not pressure yourself, Spencer. It is my job to worry about his school work. If you need me to maybe tutor him until he gets his grades back up, I'd be happy to do so." Y/N offered.

"Are you sure it's not a problem?" He questioned.

"I wouldn't've offered if I had a problem with tutoring. I want all of my students, young and old, to succeed." Y/N nodded.

"How about tomorrow afternoon at 4:30?" He asked, watching as Y/N nodded.

"Tomorrow at 4:30." Y/N confirmed.

Just like she agreed, Y/N showed up at 4:30 on the dot, at Spencer's home, all of Adam's classwork in her hands. She was let in and Adam seemed very excited to see her. For an hour, Y/N went through the material laid out on the dining room table. Every now and again, Adam would speak up and give an answer, earning a sticker for every correct answer he gave.

By 5:30, Y/N was leaving the house, saying goodbye to both Adam and Spencer.

"How'd your tutoring go?" Spencer put a plate of dinner in front of Adam, curious. He put his plate down on the table and sat down on the seat next to Adam's.

"It was easy. Miss Y/L/N is pretty, don't you think?" Adam shoved spoonful after spoonful of his dinner into his mouth.

"She is certainly a sight for sore eyes. Very beautiful...and smart." Spencer muttered the last part, confused as to how Adam's dinner was now gone from his plate in only a matter of minutes.
