SUMMARY:
Due to Luke's insistence, Emily reveals a disturbing piece of information to JJ and Y/N that has existed since 2014, possibly before. Of course, Emily leaves it up to JJ and Y/N whether or not they tell their partners (Will and Spencer).

(Based on a storyline within the first 3 episodes available in CM season 17. SPOILERS, if you haven't seen episode 3 yet.)

JJ and Y/N sat across from Emily in her office, both confused as to why they were in a secretive meeting with the door shut and the blinds closed.

"Before we talk, I must stress that this conversation will be strictly need to know. The only people who will know of what we discussed are to be Luke, you two, and your partners, if you choose to tell them." Emily explained, leaning back in her chair.

"Why would we tell Will and Spencer?" JJ furrowed her eyebrows.

"Emily, what's going on?" Y/N questioned.

"Back in 2014, a website on the dark net was flagged, taken down and archived for evidence by Homeland Security. BAU Gate, is the website." Emily tried to remain calm.

"BAU Gate? What's that?" Y/N glanced between JJ and Emily, waiting for a response.

"It was a site that involved memes and pictures of our team in...deep-fake pornography." JJ kept quiet, obviously very disturbed by the subject matter.

"You knew about it?" Emily widened her eyes at JJ, confused.

"In 2014, it was simply a rumor circulating around the Bureau. No one actually proved whether it was real or not. Eventually the rumor went cold after someone explained that it had been 'cleaned up' and taken care of." JJ shrugged her shoulders.

"Wait, I'm confused. Why would Luke know about it and this conversation?" Y/N turned to Emily, referencing Emily's mention of his name earlier.

"Luke knows about BAU Gate because Voit whispered it to him." Emily told.

"How could Voit know about a site that was taken down 8 years ago?" JJ glanced at Emily.

"Voit revealed he and his network friends got access to it and brought it back, this time different. He gave Luke the codes to access the site." Emily exhaled.

"Has Luke seen the site? Has he watched any of its content?" JJ was concerned.

"He has seen some of the content, stopping as soon as he saw who the content was focused on." Emily nodded.

"Focused on? I thought the site was about the whole BAU?" Y/N thought back to previous points in the conversation.

"That's why Voit said the site was back, but different. Back in 2014, the site was focused on everyone from Derek, to Hotch, to Penelope. But now, the site is back and focused specifically on two Agents within the team." Emily left room for Y/N and JJ to connect the dots.

"Us? Why us?" Y/N's eyes widened.

"Luke and I believe that since you both have had time as the BAU's media liaisons, you've spent the most time in front of cameras for press conferences, giving the creator of the site plenty of material for their disgusting content." Emily mentally groaned.

"So, this site...is it gonna be taken down again?" JJ asked.

"We are working to get it removed, permanently. But until it is, this needs to remain between us. Luke knows, but is under orders not to speak of it to anyone. You two, being the targets of the updated site, are allowed to tell your respective partners if you want." Emily nodded.
