Standing at the edge of the ship, Elizabeth had crawled across the lines back towards the ship. You stood behind out of the way where Davy Jones and the crew could not see you, he spoke to Norrington with such a lack of compassion unsure with himself what to do backed into a corner as such with his head and eyes intent on the tentacles of Jones. He plunged the sword, twisting it into his numb body from the cold letting his blood seep out across his shirt. You held your hand to your face forcing yourself not to cry or scream in horror. Jones exited the scene with satisfaction as his eyes rolled into the back of his head. You had heard stories of individuals, mermaids that could heal and help, perhaps even bringing someone back to life from the dead.
You cautiously approached constantly looking from left to right to see if anyone was coming. Kneeling beside him, you buried your head into his shoulder, grasping his shirt in your hands, holding him tightly to your warm body feeling the life draining out of him slowly. He was still breathing, but it was shallow nonetheless.
"Stay with me, please," you begged, his finger slightly moved brushing against your wrist. "Please, stay with me."
Just underneath the boat, a small little row boat was situated. You took him in your arms, his arms around your neck seeing there was no way of getting down. A man came round the side, it was Will 's father, he silently said nothing, handing a rope around the shape of the ship, tying in a sturdy knot. His inhumane strength easily picked up Norrington, placing him over his back, climbing down the rope, lowering him into the nodding ship. You slowly followed down after, thanking him for his help, and quickly letting him go before anyone noticed. A slight wave towards him showed your appreciation as he untied the rope from in front of him, tossing you an oar to row the boat. Every so often you checked back to see if he was still slightly breathing, just a little bit.
As he continued breathing, you rowed faster and faster, despite your arms burning, tears threatening to sting your cheeks that were sore from the wind that had whipped them from being on the decks of ships for so long. You were only numb to the pain they could bring unless water or tears decorated your cheeks.
Soon enough, you made it to the ship, shouting for Elizabeth. She soon came running to the side, a few of the crew helping to carry up Norrington from the side of the boat, you followed behind climbing up the side from one of the ladders on the side. You kneeled next to him on the wooden decks, Elizabeth merely observing, a woman you dared to not look at right now.
"Please, you need to keep breathing for me. I cannot let you die," you stroked your hand to his face, opening the shirt to see the deep wound inflicted in his body, pulsating blood coming from the wound, some crusted dry pieces collected on the outer parts of his skin.
One of the crew brought clean cloths and water, dousing the wound with the water, and gently cleansing around it. There was nothing hygienic to properly clean it with.
"We need to get him back to Port Royal, I know it's the last place you want to go, but he must go back with me,"
"Y/N, you face the hangmans noose if you go back there!" Elizabeth told you, exasperated and scared.
"If that's what I must do to keep him alive, then I will. They will pardon me, I'm sure... If Beckett knows he's still alive, they will be okay, they have to be okay," you wound a bandage tightly around his torso to try and keep it tight to his skin. "I don't care anymore."
"You have to care, he will be long dead by then,"
one of the crew neither of you had noticed before came and approached. He stood over and watched in horror at the deeds of Jones, he looked terrified, and sad at the sight of Norrington. A man he clearly never knew but possessed a high level of empathy.
"Can't you see, miss? She is in love with him,"
"I don't understand,"
"Love is a powerful thing, he must go to Port Royal. They will both die, if one is without the other."
You placed a soft kiss to Norringtons lips, your forehead lingering on top of his, his eyes closed shut, but your tears dripped on his skin, making his body twitch slightly.
"I do love him. I can't just let him go,"
"Then we won't."
Elizabeth spoke, you looked up at her and smiled a smile of appreciation. Maybe he would survive.
