When Yoojung stepped into her childhood home, nostalgia enveloped her. The familiar scents of home-cooked meals and her family's warmth offered solace amidst her grief.

Her mother, once strong, now appeared fragile, her eyes clouded with sorrow. Yoojung wished to ease her pain, longing to offer comfort amid their shared loss. They sat together in silence, reflecting on happier times, their laughter mingling with bittersweet memories.

In this moment of grief, Yoojung drew strength from her mother's resilience. United by their sorrow and love, she vowed to cherish their moments together, finding solace in family.

Yona's voice quivered as she reached out to Yoojung, regret evident in her eyes. "I'm sorry for not being the mother you needed," she whispered.

Tears welled in Yoojung's eyes. "You did your best," she replied, her voice thick with emotion.

Yona's gaze softened as she brushed away a tear from Yoojung's cheek. "I love you more than anything, and I'll always be here for you."

In their shared vulnerability, they found solace in forgiveness and unconditional love, their bond growing stronger despite the pain. Yet Yoojung hesitated to reveal her impending fate, the burden of damnatio memoriae too heavy to share with her grieving mother. Out of love, she chose silence, unwilling to add to Yona's anguish.

Yona then retrieved a worn book from the shelf. "I thought this might help you understand your father better. He was interested in Vampires."

Yoojung accepted the book with a smile, aware that her father's interest was much deeper. "Thank you, Mom," she said sincerely.

As she flipped through the pages, a sense of apprehension gnawed at her. One page caught her eye:

The Vampire & Human Chronicles

The number 2 symbolizes many of the basic dualities: me/you, male/female, yes/no, alive/dead, left/right, and more. Dualities are common because of our preference for two-valued logic, which is derived from true/false.

In this universe, especially, exists Human/Vampire.

However, we weren't always a duality. Once upon a time, we had no knowledge of each other and lived separate lives in alternate universes.

It all changed during the creation of the jar that bonded both species together.

Thousands of years ago, the young Vampire Queen Yang Ikbi, curator of many spells that are still used in this modern era, was desperate to save her dying husband.

King Kwan is one of the greatest warriors of Vampire history. His biggest feat was helping the Queen end the Choi dictatorship, beginning the Yang Dynasty. He spent a lot of his life as the Head General of the Army until he and the Queen fell deeply in love with each other and he became King. Together, they had ten children.
