As Jungwon slowly blinked his eyes open, he found himself lying on Minji's familiar couch, the soft cushions providing a welcome comfort beneath him. His head throbbed with the remnants of exhaustion, but a sense of clarity began to seep into his consciousness as he shook off the remnants of unconsciousness.
Raising a hand to massage his temples, Jungwon took a moment to orient himself, his mind still reeling from the ethereal encounters he had experienced. The memories of Queen Jungwon, Queen Ikbi, and his grandfather King Jungkook danced at the edges of his consciousness, their words echoing in his mind like a distant melody.
With a deep breath, Jungwon pushed himself upright, taking in his surroundings with a sense of renewed purpose. The sunlight streamed in through the window, casting warm rays of light across the room and banishing the lingering shadows of doubt that clung to his thoughts.
Feeling Yona's arms wrap around him, Jungwon grinned and returned the hug, a sense of warmth flooding through him at her touch.
"You're awake!" Yona exclaimed, her voice filled with relief. "We were starting to worry you'd sleep through the entire day."
Jungwon chuckled. "Sorry about that," he replied, his tone light.
Minji chimed in, her expression a mix of concern and exasperation. "We seriously thought something happened to you. We were about to call the authorities."
Jungwon's eyes widened in surprise at Minji's words, a pang of guilt tugging at his heart. "I didn't mean to freak you guys out," he sighed. "I promise, next time I'll send a text or something."
Minji rolled her eyes, but there was a hint of relief in her expression. "Yeah, you better," she teased, a smile playing at her lips. "We're not letting you off the hook that easy."
Jungwon glanced around, his brows furrowing in confusion. "How long was I out?" he asked, a sense of disorientation lingering in his mind.
Leehan, ever the joker, grinned mischievously. "Like 10 seconds," he replied, his tone teasing.
Jungwon blinked in surprise, his mind struggling to reconcile the intensity of his experiences with the fleeting passage of time. "Seriously?" he exclaimed, his disbelief evident in his voice.
Minji chuckled, shaking her head at Leehan's antics. "Yeah, you practically blinked and it was over. Leehan carried you back in here," she confirmed, her amusement evident in her tone.
"Well, that's a relief," he remarked, a smile spreading across his face. "I guess I just needed a quick power nap."
Laughter filled the room, and Jungwon felt a surge of connection with his friends. Grateful for their support, he knew he was ready to face the challenges of magic and destiny with courage and determination.
"Did it work?" he asked softly, his voice barely above a whisper as he held his breath, awaiting the answer.
But before anyone could respond, the television suddenly blared to life, the news anchor's voice cutting through the air with urgency. "Breaking news," the reporter announced, her tone filled with astonishment. "A new continent has appeared on Earth, baffling scientists and experts around the world. We are not sure when it came or how it arrived."
Jungwon's eyes widened in disbelief as he absorbed the startling revelation. A new continent?
Minji's jaw dropped in shock, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Is... is that because of you?" she stammered, turning to him.
Jungwon could only shake his head in amazement, his mind racing with the implications of what he had achieved. "I... I don't know," he admitted, his voice filled with wonder. "But if it is... then I guess the connection worked."
Yona's voice cut through the excited chatter, her tone carrying a hint of concern. "Guys, do you remember that earthquake when Jungwon passed out?" she asked, her brows furrowed with worry.
Jungwon's eyes widened as he processed her words, a sense of unease creeping over him. "There was an earthquake?" he repeated, his voice tinged with concern.
Minji nodded, her expression mirroring Yona's concern. "Yeah, it was pretty intense," she confirmed. "We were all freaking out, wondering what was happening."
Leehan's eyes widened in realization. "Do you think it had something to do with Jungwon passing out?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
Yona shrugged, her expression thoughtful. "It's possible," she replied, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "But we won't know for sure until we figure out what caused it."
As they watched the news report unfold before them, Jungwon felt a surge of excitement coursing through him. The world would never be the same again, and he couldn't wait to see what other wonders awaited him on this new journey of discovery.
The more they listened to the news reporters, the more they were sure of the outcome. "You connected the realms," Leehan exhaled out. "Quite literally. Are the Vampires here now?"
Jungwon, Minji, and Leehan exchanged excited glances, their hearts racing with anticipation at the prospect of their Vampire families joining them on the new continent.
Is this what Queen Ikbi meant when she said there was an extra thing? "This changes everything," Jungwon exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement. "Our friends and families will finally be here with us."
Minji's eyes sparkled with joy as she imagined the reunion. "I can't wait to see my cousins again," she said, her voice tinged with emotion.
Leehan grinned, unable to contain his excitement. "It's going to be epic," he declared, his enthusiasm infectious. "Having our Vampire families here with us, exploring this new world together."
As they animatedly discussed their upcoming adventures, Jungwon felt warmth and happiness wash over him. The idea of sharing this journey with loved ones filled him with joy and anticipation for the new chapter ahead, rich with adventure and discovery.
His thoughts drifted to friends from the other realm, and nostalgia hit him. He smiled at the thought of reuniting with Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki. Memories of their laughter and camaraderie flooded back, reminding him of the bonds they'd forged through adversity.
He envisioned their joyous reunion, the hugs and laughter as they caught up on everything. Separated by worlds, they now had the chance to be together again, and that possibility felt more real than ever.
