"What are you talking about ?" Hally asked, still dumbfounded by her altercation with the dementors and Snape's reaction to her necklace burning.
Hermione bit her lip as she hugged her hand to her chest. "I have to tell you something.' Guilt poured from her person as she pulled an ancient looking chain out from the front of her robes. 'I've been hiding a time turner from you and Ron all year and well— I've just spoken to professor Dumbledore and he said that if we want to save Sirius—"
—"wait, a time turner ? What in Merlin's name is that ?"
Hermione let out a huff. "Focus Hally ! We don't have much time, Dumbledore said if we succeed more than one innocent life could be spared tonight !"
"What does that even mean ? Why is everyone in this world always talking in riddles ?!"
Hermione moved closer to Hally and wrapped her hand around the young girls arm all the while attempting to pull her up and out of bed.
"Hermione I'm unsteady on my feet and you're making me anxious." Hally complained while holding onto the side of the bed to catch her bearings.
"Have a piece of chocolate.' Hermione said while breaking off a piece of the bar that was on the table near Hally's hospital bed. 'We don't have much time it's already five minutes to midnight."
Hally popped the chocolate into her mouth as Hermione wrapped the long chain around both of their necks.
"Dumbledore said three turns of this should do it and remember we can't be seen by anyone." Hermione explained briefly as she started to flip the hourglass amulet backwards thrice.
Before Hally could question her any further she felt a sharp tug in the bottom of her abdomen and then everything around them started moving backwards at rapid speed.
Hally couldn't help but think about the fact that she was sick and tired of people not giving her proper notice before they pulled her into things.
Snape never let her know when he was going to apparate them and now Hermione didn't give her a heads up on what to expect from this time turner.
She wasn't just some doll that people could drag around and as much as she wanted to save Sirius she also wanted to know what she was getting herself into.
They landed on solid ground by the entrance that was facing Hagrid's hut and it was once again light outside.
"What the-"
Hermione took the chain off of Hally and pulled her sideways until they were hidden behind a cement pillar. "We've gone back in time to three hours ago.' She explained as she peaked around the beam. 'We were making our way down to Hagrid's at this time."
"So this is how you've been getting to your classes all year." Hally's lips parted in understanding as she finally pieced together how Hermione was able to be enrolled in every course that she was in. Considering a lot of them ran at the same time as each other.
