Dreams were something that Hally had never really paid much mind to.
For so long sleep was her safe haven and dreams were her oasis away from the Dursley's' plaguing her day to day life with their agonizing afflictions.
Becoming apart of the wizarding world and the people that came into her life helped to ease her known reality in the muggle world— despite all of the new sorts of pain that came with her found heritage.
Sleep was still an escape for her. The place she was always shielded from the danger of her new reality.
Hally desperately wished that it had stayed that way.
In the middle of summer hols on the day of the Quidditch World Cup that she was meant to be attending with the Weasley's' and Hermione, she had the most egregious of dreams.
In it she was made aware that Peter Pettigrew had reunited with Lord Voldemort and they were both planning out her murder.
She couldn't recall much from the dream other than the fact that they were in a seemingly abandoned house and Voldemort had been speaking in parseltongue to a grossly large snake before an old muggle— Hally presumed lived on the property— was murdered by a green light.
She remembered the words Lucius Malfoy had attempted to utter to her right before Snape had stepped in; stopping him from completing the incantation.
Voldemort had said those same words right before she awoke with a start.
Usually she wouldn't pay mind to a nightmare but all of it just felt too real.
Like she had been watching something that was actually happening.
It didn't help that her scar was burning something awful as she tried to regain control of her breathing.
Surprisingly in her hysterics she hadn't woken Ginny or Hermione up.
Panic caused her to get out of bed and make her way to the bathroom.
Once there she locked the door before walking over to the sink and turning on the cold water tap as she tried her hardest to slow her breathing down before cupping some of the water and splashing it onto her face.
Her thoughts were racing about the last time her scar had burned her like this.
It was a forewarning that Voldemort was near.
But that just couldn't be.
She was safe at the Weasley's'.
She gripped the sides of the sink as the cold water shocked her system enough to slow down her heart rate.
She had to tell someone about the burning and perhaps about the dream.
Hally didn't want to wake up Hermione or Ron. She could predict that their reactions would not be helpful and she didn't want to ruin the day ahead for anyone.
