Hally had woken up with a start to Hermione shaking her awake in the early hours of the morning.
"You need to get up, Hedwig has brought a letter from Sirius and given the time— it might be urgent." She said exasperated and breathing heavily.
"Hermione it can wait— it's still dark outside." Hally groaned before attempting to roll over.
After a beat of silence she heard Hermione let out a low sigh. "There's something I need to tell you."
Hally's eyes shot open at those words. "Okay... what is it ?" She attempted to ask as calmly as possible.
Sitting up slowly, she watched her best friend take a deep breath. "I may have written Sirius a letter and mentioned your nightmare to him." She bit her lip anxiously and avoided Hally's eyes.
"You did what ?!' Hally whispered-yelled, trying her hardest to not wake any of the other girls up. 'Why in Merlin's bloody ballsack would you do that ?! I just told Snape that him and I haven't been in contact."
Hermione straightened herself up at the mention of Snape's name. "Well firstly, I don't care what Snape has to say about anything, his hatred towards Sirius is of no consequence to me and secondly, you're not the one who's made contact— I am."
"That's not the point Mione, if I wanted Sirius to know I would have told him myself— he's been writing to me all bloody summer !"
"Well if you're not going to read it, I will." She huffed before tearing the envelope open.
Hally scoffed. "Good. You're the one who's involved him in this now."
Hermione's chocolate eyes hungrily scanned the letter and after a beat of her seemingly digesting the words Sirius had to say she looked up. "He says you should speak to professor Dumbledore about the dream and that..." She paused as her features scrunched up in unease.
"And what ?' Hally reached forward and snatched the letter out of Hermione's hand. The letter was short and obviously very rushed. Her heart sank when she read the end of it though. 'He's coming back." She stated aloud before bringing her eyes back to Hermione's.
"Yes. It appears so." She outwardly winced.
"Well I hope you're happy. He's now going to risk his freedom from Azkaban and his glorious advice is that I should speak to Dumbledore." Hally snapped as Hermione hung her head slightly.
"Well you should go and speak to him." She said under her breath.
"I've already spoken to Snape, I'm sure he's filled Dumbledore in on everything. The headmaster has enough going on without me bothering him over a dream right now." Hally's stomach roiled despite her words. She knew deep down that it wasn't just a nightmare. Something was coming, she could feel it in her bones.
