Where the hell was Snape ? She thought to herself as her body shook with nerves before it was her turn.

If there was ever a time in her life where she needed words of encouragement, it would be right now.

The thought of running away briefly crossed her mind as her heart pounded so hard in her chest that she could hear it. Besides, it wasn't as if anyone wanted her to be apart of this horrid tournament anyways, she bitterly reasoned with herself.

She paced steadily around the inside of the tent as she waited for Ludo Bagman to announce that Krum had finished with his dragon.

She had picked the Hungarian Horntail with a number four around its neck out of a small velvet bag that Crouch had all the champions pick from— of course, she would get the most vicious dragon and end up being the last one to compete because of it.

Her hands shook as she tried to get a good grasp of her wand without dropping it and making a fool of herself. She let out a small grunt of annoyance while clutching it tightly in her fist. Just as she had finally gotten a steady grip of it a gust of wind blew through her robes from behind her causing her to turn around sharply to see who had just entered the tent.

Snape's dark and imposing form was facing away from her and closing the latch behind him as Hally decided that now would be a good time to erase her all of her hard work and drop her wand before she threw herself at him in a heap of sobs.

He spun around to face her with widened eyes as she got closer to him. He took in her flushed face and the streaks of tears that were already stamped onto her face from the ones she had already shed before he showed up.

"Potter—" Snape started to say her name in a tone of concern as she wrapped her arms around his middle.

Hally had been fully expecting him to willingly embrace her back but instead the potions professor remained stark still.

"Why aren't you hugging me back ?" She questioned while tilting her head up towards his own but not loosening her grip on him.

"I would hate for you to scream and cause a scene." He replied coldly while his body remained tense.

"What ? Why would I— oh,' the unpleasant realization struck her like lightening, he was worried that she would misinterpret his touch as something negative again. 'Snape, I know you didn't mean to hurt me that day. I'm sorry if I've made you nervous to touch me but I really need you right now." She tried her best to reassure him whilst trying to hold back her tears.

Snape didn't move a muscle at her words or respond back to her pleading. Hally knew that she had driven a bit of a wedge between them that day in his classroom and as the days passed by she started to realize that in her moment of duress she might have jumped to untrue conclusions.
