She had kissed Snape.
And for one beautiful, earth shattering moment he had kissed her back.
Well it felt like he had at least.
Hally had never dreamed that their kiss would set in motion a chain of events that would lead to a much more complicated school year.
If she were truly being honest, she wasn't thinking. At all.
It was devastating that Snape didn't feel what she felt in that moment of course, but even more so when she thought about the repercussions of her actions after the fact.
How could she be so stupid ? Why would he want to kiss a fourteen year old ?
Hally hadn't understood what came over her in that moment— all she knew was that she needed all the noise in her head to quiet and the only time it ever did was with him.
Unfortunately, those thoughts that she attempted to silence were now uglier and more haunting than before.
Pain demands to be felt after all.
And her pain was rearing itself in full force.
As was her anxiety as she laid her head against the cool window of the Hogwarts Express.
She couldn't stop replaying how dismissive Snape was after she had done that, how he was immediately uncomfortable as well as their brief conversation before they silently walked back to the Burrow and he disapperated without another word to her.
"I've come here to ease Dumbledore's concerns and I have done so. Let us return you to your caretakers." He said coldly as he looked away from her.
"Wait I'm sorry— can we just talk about an issue I've had before you—"
He didn't give her a chance to finish her sentence before he started his fast paced strides back to the Weasley's.
The message was clear. He did not wish to speak to her.
So as tears started to slowly slip down her face she followed behind him at a distance.
She could still feel the remnants of his soft lips against her own, the scent of leather and sandalwood flowed steadily into her face from the wind as she continued to silently sob.
She had managed to pull herself together before they reached the home— not that it mattered ultimately, as he didn't spare her another glance before she heard the pop of his disapparition signalling that she was alone.
That is not how she pictured her first kiss would go and the worst part is that she had no one to blame but herself.
She spent the remainder of the day terrified that he wouldn't want to be around her anymore. That she may have just pushed him away for good.
