The day after the night before (1/2)

TAYLOR POV

When I woke up this morning I thought I was in a dream. As had been the case for 2 years now, I woke up wrapped in a pair of strong, warm arms with my head resting on my love's chest.
But today was different. Last night our relationship had changed.

"Morning babe!" Adam said in his sleep filled Scottish voice, wrapping me tightly in his arms and placing kisses on the top of my head.
"Morning my love!" I replied smiling.
"So what do you want to do today?" He asks me sitting up slightly in bed, uncovering his bare torso.
"Well I should probably call my family...let them know about this little thing." I replied holding my left hand in the air and letting the morning sun reflect off my new jewelry.

*flashback to the night before*

I had spent the last while in the studio writing and recording for my 6th studio album. I was taking a little longer than usual on this one because I wanted it to be perfect. Luckily I had had a lot of inspiration over the last 2.5 years. I was in New York at the moment and decided that I would go for a walk in Central Park before heading home. Even though it is the end of February, New York was actually pretty warm.
When I got home I was surprised to find the cats weren't waiting by the front door. I was later than usual and they are always so hungry! As I walked further into the apartment I felt like someone was here.... but that wouldn't happen because security wouldn't let anyone in. I crept into the living room and suddenly felt a pair of hand on my hips. I spun around and was about to shriek when I saw the most beautiful greeney blue eyes looking down at me.

"Adam!! What are you doing here? You're meant to be in Las Vegas for another 2 days!!" I squealed.
"Surprise!" He responded, chuckling slightly.

We hadn't seen each other for over a week between Adam co-writing and producing in LA, his shows in Las Vegas, and me being across the country in NYC with long studio days with producers on top of writing for a movie soundtrack.

I jumped into his arms and held on for dear life.

"Hahah....I swapped around some shows so I could come visit you!" Adam responded, punctuating his words with sweet kisses.

"So....what do you want to do?" I asked a we sat on the sofa.

"Well I stopped by our favourite pizza place and got some pizzas and ice cream.... I thought we could watch a movie and just relax."

"MY HERO! That's exactly what I want to do......actually that's always what I want to do!" I replied, grinning like a maniac and snuggling into his side. "Can we eat now?"

"I will go get the food, me lady"

We spent the next couple of hours watching a movie and eating dinner all while snuggled up on the sofa. We didn't really even realize the movie was just rolling the credits now.

Suddenly Adam got up and changed the DVD. He looked nervous for some reason.

"What are we watching?" I asked curiously

"Umm, you'll see." He replied as he came closer to me.

Suddenly video started on screen. There was music in the background and photos appeared of us. It was a video/photo montage of our last 2 years together.

"You know we met 2 years ago today? At the fashion awards before the Brits." Adam whispered in my ear making me tear up and nod.

There were pictures from holidays we went on, events we went to, and of course loads of us just around our houses with the cats or with friends.

Adam shifted over slightly, but I barely noticed as my glistening eyes were glued to the screen. The screen went blank part from the words 'I will love you forever my darling. xx A'.
I turned my head towards Adam as he started to speak to me.

" I love you Taylor. I don't know if I could ever show you how much you mean to me. You are an INCREDIBLE person. I never want to have to be apart from you, hell, even a week is too much! Ever since I first met you two years ago my life has been AMAZING. I am always smiling, I have so much inspiration for my music, and best of all I have you to share it all with. I never thought I would find someone who fitted into my life so perfectly until I found you. We've had our ups and downs but never have I felt that we wouldn't get through it. I love you. I always will. So Taylor Alison Swift....will you marry me?" Adam finished his speech by pulling out a ring from his pocket. It was gorgeous, simple and elegant but so shimmery.

It took me a moment to realize that he had just proposed. We had discussed marriage, but mainly as offhand comments about the future not as an actual reality. But I could never see myself marrying anyone but him. He is my one and only.

"Yes, a thousand times yes!" I said wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him with as much passion as possible.

He pulled back for just long enough to slide the ring onto my finger before carrying me to our room.

*back to today*

"Well your parents already know because I asked them at New Years. But I don't think they told anyone and they didn't know exactly when I was going to do it." Adam explained.

"Well first things first I will call my parents, then Austin, then the squad.... or maybe I will invite as many as them over as possible and have a little tea party thing!!" I started fantasizing until we heard the cats making a racket outside our door.

"Well you do that, I will make breakfast and feed the girls."

My parents were ecstatic, having been wondering when he'd do it. They invited us down to Nashville for Easter which I accepted straight away. Austin was half asleep considering he was living in LA and I called him at 5am his time, but he was happy for us and said he'd take us for dinner next time we were both in town.

Next I called Abigail and we had a mini squealing freak out session over the phone. She had just gotten engaged 6 months ago and we were so excited to plan our weddings together.

I sent a text message to my friends who were in New York (which luckily a bunch of them were for various events) to invite them for tea. Luckily this was a semi-normal occurrence so they wouldn't suspect anything is up. I texted Britt, Karlie, Selena, Lena, Jaime, Ella, Ellie, Gigi, Martha, and Cara.

I was lured downstairs by the smell of waffles and coffee made for me by my extremely gorgeous fiancé.
