A/N Just a little nonsense on this lovely Wednesday evening.

ADAM POV

In life there are certain people you should not make bets with. In my life one of those people was my good friend Charlie. He knew how to manipulate me and whenever we made bets I would always lose.

3 days earlier

"I bet you that this new single will be itunes number 1 by the end of the week" Charlie said confidently.

I had just released a new single and I had high hopes for it, but not that high.

"And what do I have to do if you win?" I asked him.

"That's for me to know and you to find out...." He replied, smirking.

"Deal." I said, sticking out my hand to shake on it.

Back to 'present' day

Of course Charlie was right. The single went to number 1 on iTunes within a couple of days and now I had to do whatever he told me.

"So.... What do I have to do?" I asked, not wanting to think about what he had in store for me.

"Welllll...." Charlie said, walking behind his chair and opening a small box. He lifted out a little dark blue grey kitten and plonked it on my lap, where it proceeded to curl up. "This is Charlie the cat."

"Wait.... you want me to give Taylor a cat from you? Why don't you just give her the cat?" I asked him. I had been planning to get Taylor a cat as a present, since it was almost our anniversary and we weren't at the point of me proposing just yet, but she was on break and was getting bored.

"You were going to get her a cat anyways for your anniversary next week, right? This is just, like, speeding up the process. The main forfeit us that you have to film her and post it to Instagram." He said, smirking once again.

We were always very private about our lives, so this wasn't something I would normally do.... But there was a rule amongst my friends that if you didn't do the forfeit they got to do whatever they wanted to you, so if was safer just to do it.

"Okay. 1 video coming right up." I told him, "and did you really have to name the cat after you?"

"Then you'll never forget me!" Charlie said, like a little kid.

Later that day, back at home

"Taylor? Where are you?" I called through the house.

"In the kitchen!" She replied.

I placed the small black and blue cat carrier down in the front hall and went to find her.

"Um, I have a present for you.... Could you go into the living room and shut your eyes?" I asked her.

"Umm sure...." She replied, confused but still going into the living room.

TAYLOR POV

Out of all the weird things Adam would ask me to do, this was quite near the top. But I wasn't going to argue, presents were always nice. I knew our anniversary was coming up soon, and I was planning a present of my own for him. I suddenly go the overwhelming feeling that it was something big.... Like life altering big. Tears sprung to my eyes and I took a deep breath.

Suddenly I felt a small weight be placed in my lap. My eyes snapped open and I spotted the cutest little furball in my lap. That's when the tears started.

"Oh my goodness! Who is this little thing? Hello little one!" I said, picking up the small kitten and bringing it up to my face. "What's going on Adam?" I asked him, looking up and noticing he had his phone out and was recording me.

"That's Charlie.... He's a blue Scottish fold....and I guess he's ours." Adam replied.

"You got us a cat!" I exclaimed, actually crying happily now.

This was big. A cat. Our cat. Not mine, ours.

"Wait.... why is the cat called Charlie?" I asked, having just processed the name.

"I may have lost a bet to Charlie and that led to the cat and this video which is now going to be on Instagram....." Adam replied hesitantly.

"Look at him...." I said, watching little Charlie step gently from my lap to Adam's and ignoring the fact my tearstained face would be on Instagram soon. "Well.... I guess 4 have become 5 now....3 cats...."

"But it's still a party, you are definitely not a cat lady.... Just the best cat mother a cat could ever want!" Adam said, wrapping his arm around me.

"Well you should tell Mer and Olivia that.... they just don't care anymore...." I replied, thinking about the older cats lack of respect for anything these days- the fame has gotten to them. "Hopefully they will be good big sisters to this little rugrat! Now show me that video so we can get it posted- I don't want those idiot friend of yours to buzz cut your arms again, it didn't look great last time."
