TAYLOR POV

Sometimes there is a song that you hear and it just....fits. It illustrates what you are feeling at the precise moment. I love finding out how my songs fit moments in my fans lives in the same ways they illustrated parts of mine.

I had met Adam a few weeks ago at the BRIT awards in London and since then my life had started to revolve around a series of messages and phone calls. Tour rehearsals were well underway and everyone could see that there was an extra spark to me which was more than just the normal excitement about touring. I mean, sure, I was really excited about this upcoming tour. I was incredibly proud of 1989 and so excited to show the fans what we were working on, as well as providing a few surprises along the way. But there were also the sparks of new love in my life.

"Tay? Any plans for the weekend?" One of my backup singers asked as we were packing up for the day. It was Friday and we didn't have rehearsals again till the next Wednesday as I had some fittings and dancers' auditions in LA at the beginning of next week. I liked to give my crew and band weekends off when possible so they could spend time with their families, since we were going to be on the road for a large part of the year.

"I think I'm just going to hang out in LA a little, catch up with friends.... Normal stuff" I replied, smiling at her.

"Not seeing the mystery man?" She replied raising her eyebrows in a teasing way. They had figured out that my happiness was down to a new man in my life, but I had kept my lips sealed about anything else, not wanting to jinx it.

"I have no idea what you are talking about." I said, trying not to grin and slightly failing, making them all laugh at me as we left the rehearsals venue.

I went straight to the airport and got on my plane to go back to LA. In reality I was planning to spend the weekend with my friends, since Adam had work all weekend in Las Vegas. Selena, Ellie, and the Haim girls were all coming over for the day tomorrow and that would probably turn into an overnight thing since we haven't seen each other in a while.

I plugged my headphones into my phone and put it on shuffle as I closed my eyes, suddenly feeling the exhaustion that had been building over the last couple of weeks hit me. I was just dozing off when that feeling hit me. That feeling you get when you hear a song that just fits. I opened my eyes and looked at my phone. I had almost forgotten about this EP. It came out in November last year and I had listened to it obsessively for a few weeks, but then my attention had shifted to the BRITS performance and events as well as tour planning, and my time to just sit and listen to music had become very rare. Despite my transition to pop music, my heart still remained in part in country music. So of course it was a country song that got my head spinning.

"Yeah boy, I wanna take a little ride with you. Yeah boy, I wanna spend a little time with you. Yeah boy..."

I started to sing along a little and smile as I put the song on again. Just as I was about to play it again my phone started to buzz with a new message.

*hi tay. I was wondering if you wanted to come to my show tomorrow? x adam*

My smile grew three sizes. I really wanted to. I knew it was in theory public but it'd be so dark and no one would expect me to be there. I thought about the fact I had plans with the girls tomorrow.... Maybe they would like to come. Ellie and the Haim sisters had worked with Adam before – heck, Ellie is the one who introduced us- and Selena is usually up for anything.

I quickly texted them all to ask if they were up for going to the show the next evening and waited for their response. I was on edge because I didn't want to wat too long to text Adam back. I was practically shaking as I tried to concentrate on the music playing through my headphones. It was swapped to another song now.

It only took the girls about 5 minutes to all get back to me with positive responses, and some teasing comments which I semi-ignored.

*Hi! That sounds like fun! Is it okay if some of my friends come too (Ellie, Este, Selena,Alana)? Xx Taylor*

I waited in anticipation. I hoped it didn't sound too much like I didn't want to go alone. I started to worry and was just about to type out a message to clarify that when his response came in.

*sounds great! some of my mates will be there too. can't wait to see you again! Xx adam*

I smiled and went into the music section on my phone, finding Kelsea Ballerini quite quickly, and pushing play on Yeah Boy one last time before I landed.
