Just imagine this was last December.... even though it wasn't or whatever.

TAYLOR POV

"Tay! It all looks so amazing!" Karlie said, bouncing over towards me.

"Karlie! You made it!" I squealed in return.

It was both my 26th birthday party and an end of tour party. I had invited all my friends over to celebrate, having not seen any of them for over 2 weeks. Karlie had said she might not make it because of work, but here she was!

"I made it! And I come bearing cake!" She said, lifting a box from the counter as we walk up to it.

"Is it THE cake?" I asked her, my eyes going wide as she flipped the lid open and I saw it, "Oh my god! You're the best! I was telling Adam how this cake is the best thing ever and he promised he'd try it!"

"Seriously? Adam is going to eat cake?" Karlie said, laughing.

All my friends knew about Adam's crazy food and fitness regime and how I had been trying to wean him off it a little at a time.

Soon the party was in full swing. People were dancing around to music, food was disappearing faster than it could be replaced on the dining room table, and drinks were flowing freely. Since the weather wasn't too bad and Austin had set up the outside fire pit, a bunch of people had migrated outside.

There was only one person who didn't seem to be here. One person who I hadn't seen for 2 weeks and hadn't heard from all day. I tried my best to not fret about it. He probably just got caught up in the studio.... But why hadn't he called me?

ADAM POV

"Seriously?" I screamed to myself, bashing a hand on the steering wheel of my car.

I had been at a meeting on the other side of town this morning, but thought I had left in plenty of time to get to her house..... but luck was not in the cards for me today.

First, I decided to take a short cut through a very sparsely populated area. IT was a short cut I had taken many times before. It cut about 25 minutes off my journey usually.... But not today. Then I heard a snap and then the car started to swerve slightly before clunking a few times. I had a flat tire. I stopped the car on the side of the road and got out to access the damage. It was definitely a flat....and of course I did not have a spare tire.

I climbed back in the car and dug around for my phone, pulling it out triumphantly and pushing the home button to get the screen to come on.... But it stayed blank.

"Are you kidding me!" I screamed, bashing the steering wheel again.

I had leant my car charger to Charlie yesterday when he didn't have one, so now I had a flat tire, a flat phone battery, and no way to deal with either issue.

On top of that I was going to be late for my beautiful girlfriend's party.

Think Adam, think..... I needed a solution.

TAYLOR POV

"So when should we do cake?" Lily asked me, wrapping an arm around my waist as she stood by my side.

"Sorry, what?" I asked her, snapping out of my thoughts and looking at her, trying to smile.

"I was wondering when we should do cake... but there is definitely something else on your mind.... What's up Tay?" She asked gently, obviously sensing that I was tense and distracted.

"Hey Tay! Where's the boy?" Gigi asked as she passed me, making me tense up even more and feel tears welling in my eyes.

"I'm sorry..." I said, turning away from her and running up the stairs towards my bathroom.
