"Momo!!! I'm getting so anxious."
"Will you please shut up for two minutes and let me fix the safety pin. You're making me anxious too."
Simran pouted and I ignored her for now focusing on the main task which was to set her veil properly on her head as earlier it was hurting her hair. Fixing it properly I looked at her in the mirror and smiled.
She was looking so so beautiful in her dark red lehenga, all decked up as a bride. I don't even know that how the week flew away and finally today is the D-Day. My best friend is getting married. Agh!!! I don't want to get emotional, and make her emotional too. Yesterday night, we both had cried in each other's arms, because she will be shifting to Mumbai with Vidyut in one month due to his transfer.
I'm so happy for my bestfriend but at the same time sad too, because my only friends would be moving away. But not wanting to spoil her mood, I kissed the top of her head and put kajal behind her ear.
"You're looking like a royal queen, Simi. I am so happy for you." Simi chuckled and stood up carefully before turning around and hugged me. I blinked my tears away and smiled before breaking the hug.
"Even you're looking very beautiful. I'm sure someone in the wedding will ask for your hand. Mumma was telling me that how many our our relatives had asked about you from her, but I told her to tell all of them to stay away from you, because my side of relatives are meh!"
I chuckled and shook my head in disbelief at the same time. I know this, because I was feeling continuous gaze of old ladies on me. Many had even asked me whether I was married or not. I swear in India, marriages are the common spot to find a groom or bride for people.
But I care less, because right now, marriage is the last thing in my mind. I don't want to settle down before settling Aayush and Adhira, I don't care how much it take.
We both looked at the door when heard the opening sound and saw Simran's Mumma and Vidyut's Mumma entering inside followed by two more ladies of their age. All the four ladies were looking so beautiful as they were wearing saree.
Just twenty minutes ago the baraat had arrived and Simran's cousins welcomed Vidyut after asking for two lakh neg. And with loads of negotiations they got one lakh eleven thousand. It was a funny bickering event, and Simran was angry when she got to know that Vidyut really gave one lakh to them. And she scolded me as why wasn't I there, as she wouldn't have minded if he had given even ten lakh to me. She really dislikes her cousins.
Simran touched Vidyut's mother's feet and other two ladies' too when Vidyut's mother- Shalini Aunty, introduced one of them as Vidyut's Maasi- Shivani Mehrotra from Mumbai and the other lady was also like a sister to her and Shivani's sister-in-law (jethani)- Radhika Mehrotra.
Even I greeted them and they smiled warmly at me. I held Anita Aunty's hand and squeezed it when I saw her getting emotional seeing her daughter getting love from her other family. Vidyut's while family is very nice, Simran is really lucky.
After spending some time with Simran the ladies moved out and left the room. And soon, Simran's father and brother came to take her out and I hugged her trying to call her anxiety and we all moved out. The hall got silent as Simran's entry song was played by dj and everyone were looking at the beautiful bride. I had tears in my own eyes looking at her and when I looked at Vidyut even he was looking like he would soon cry, which made me chuckle.
