SAUMAYA

"Maa, this is so beautiful. Thank you so much."

"Thanks Shivani, she chose this for you." I looked at Choti Maa and hugged her as she patted my head lovingly.

Tracing the beautiful work on the phulkari dupatta, I smiled, which Maa and Choti Maa had bought for me from Amritsar. And they bought not only one but so many of them.

"And this one is for Adhira, keep this with you." I took the bag from Maa and saw inside it which had the same things which she bought for me, Aarushi or Mayesha, which actually surprised me.

"Maa, but this-- there was no need--"

"Huh? Who are you to say this? Ofcourse she is my daughter too. So stay quite and keep this." I bit my lips and looked down and once again felt blessed to have such a loving family.

"And now tell us, whether you did shopping for the hotel opening ceremony or not, Saumaya bache?"

I shook my head in confusion at Choti Maa and they both looked at me with disbelief.

"I don't know how you will do this Rahul, but I want it at any cost. Also, tell the head of planning department to meet me in my office with the detailed analysis of the ceremony."

We looked at the staircase as we heard Rudraksh's voice on the call. And as soon as he hung up, Maa called for him.

"Hnji Maa?" He asked looking at Maa before looking at me and I averted my gaze and looked down tucking my hair behind my ears.

I don't know why but since our first kiss last night, I am being all shy around him. In the morning too, I silently got ready and moved out of the room before he could even wake up. And then at breakfast too I stayed in the kitchen throughout on the pretext of making dosas.

"What Hnji Maa? What am I listening?" I heard Maa speaking to him in a fake stern voice and I shut closed my eyes.

"What happen Maa?"

"Rudra, next week you have opening of your hotel ceremony, and still you hasn't took Saumaya for shopping. Bad manners."

I looked at Choti Maa and my eyes widened and I shook my head frantically.

"Oh-- Is It? Am so Sorry to disappoint you Choti Maa, but don't you worry, nothing is more important than obeying the commands of my mothers."

I looked at him with narrowed gaze as he sweetly spoke sitting beside Choti Maa. While Choti Maa and Maa gave him a smug look and nodded their heads.

"Yeah Yeah, we know." I palmed my face at Maa's teasing tone and looked at him who was just shrugged nonchalantly.

"Aaja Mithiye, tenu lehenga dilawan mehnga."

(Come Sweetheart, I'll buy you a expensive lehenga)

(A/n- this is a line from a famous Punjabi song "Lehenga" by Jass Manak, those who know it, know it☺️)

I was stunned as he took my hand and dragged me upstairs yet being careful with my steps, leaving Maa and Choti Maa chuckling behind us.

Entering in our room he pinned me to the wall near the door and literally caged me between his arms as his hands rested on the wall on my either side.
