I know am too late, but was busy dealing with some personal issues. Hope you'll understand!

She knew she loved him when 'home' went from being a place to being a person.

"Tell me if it hurts, yeah?"

I nodded, smiling at his soft voice, "But, you never hurt me-- not even unintentionally."

I felt him pausing for a brief second before feeling a small kiss at the back of my head as he continued braiding my hair gently and with all the tenderness, like he has been doing for two weeks.

"Here we go--wait, let me clip these up." He murmured to himself as he finely clipped the baby hair with pins and sighed as he was done.

I picked up the mirror and looked at my reflection, giggling as he leaned a bit touching our cheeks and I traced the butterfly pins.

Impressed by the perfect braid I chuckled at the pins he added, "You adored me like I am a baby. I wonder, you would literally dress up your daughter more than me whenever we have one."

For a few moments I didn't realised what I said, but when I did, my eyes widened as I looked at him through mirror to saw him smiling a little. Feeling embarassed, I kept the mirror down and heard him chuckling before he circled his arm around my neck and kissed my temple.

"Firstly -- that would be our daughter. And darn-- do my stomach feels butterflies on the thought of our daughter?"

I smiled hearing him and tilted my head sideways to saw that dreamy look in his eyes which made me grin. Somehow, I know that he would be the perfect father of our kids.

The thought only is enough for my heart to swell as I imagined our family.

He saw me looking at him and gave me a smile before pecking my forehead, "but, that moment can await, for now my whole priority is My Wife."

I smiled at his words and kissed his cheek making him grin as he stood up from the bed.

"So? Ready to go home, My Queen?"

I giggled but nodded my head eagerly, wanting to finally go back home, getting all done with this hospital room from two weeks.

"Okay, you wait here, I'll come after completing the pending procedure, yeah?" I pouted but still nodded my head and he gave me a light pat before moving out of the room and I sighed.

I gazed around the room, letting my eyes linger on every corner, and I couldn't help but smile softly. It wasn't the cold, sterile hospital room it used to be. Thanks to him-- My Husband, it had become a cozy, colorful space filled with love and hope.

Across the walls, the once bare, white surface was now dotted with crochet animals-bright yellow bunnies, soft pink elephants, and even a lavender turtle with lopsided eyes-all made by Aksh. They were scattered around the shelves, hanging from hooks, and resting on the nightstand. The cutest one, and my most favourite-- the monkey holding the heart and written Mithiye Ke Bholu, sat right beside my bed, as if keeping watch over me.

Covering my lap was the crochet blanket he had been working on tirelessly, day and night. It wasn't perfect, and I loved it even more for that reason. The stitches were uneven, and here and there were tiny imperfect doodlings-little hearts, stars, and a wonky smiley face woven into the fabric, making it uniquely ours. The yarn was a mix of soft pastel colors, pinks, blues, and yellows, and as I ran my fingers over the blanket, I could almost feel the hours of dedication and love he had put into each stitch. Despite its imperfections, it was the most beautiful blanket I had ever seen.
