"Bless you bache, and welcome to the family." I closed my eyes as Radhika Aunty kissed my forehead after blessing me and couldn't help but feel really blessed.

I looked at Maa who was smiling at me with tears in her eyes and I smiled back at her. But then I could see her eyes lingering on the gifts as shagun that I got and then back at the shagun we bought and I sighed.

I looked down at my lap and saw that although nothing seemed too expensive and thank God for that, but still it was way too much then we did. It was now time for Aayush as my brother to put Tika on his forehead to do the ceremony.

And after that Maa bought the shagun thal when he stopped her and we all looked at him.

"Aunty, not this much please. Just give me your blessings, that would be more than enough." I blinked my eyes and felt good at his thoughtfulness.

"But beta, this is shagun please don't say no." Maa insisted and he frowned when Anmol uncle interfered.

"Rudra, it's shagun beta, have it. Aastha Ji, make him your son with just the coconut and 101 rs." Maa looked sceptical when Radhika Aunty kept her hand on her shoulder and smiled and nodded, before nodding which made everyone else smile.

And I felt something in my heart, which swelled with happiness maybe. I really felt myself lucky to get such a family who is so considerate, while they didn't let us down by buying expensive gifts n all and even made Maa comfortable too.

Soon we were done with the ceremony and everyone sat around waiting for Bai ji from gurudwara whom Aayu had gone to bring, to decide the wedding dates and all. Elders were talking amongst themselves, meanwhile, Simran, Vidyut and Adhira were chatting with him and Aarushi and Mayesha came to me.

Aarushi was very sweet. Although she talked less but she initiated talks with me to interact. I was surprised knowing that she was preparing for her medical exam and I told her that even Aayush is studying Medical from AIIMS, and she was surprised with the fact.

Although Mayesha was nice too, but I felt that she was not that interactive with me. Maybe I was a stranger for her that's why, I thought and didn't overthink about it.

When Mayesha insisted on seeing the house, Dhiri and Simi took them with them and even Vidyut followed them, leaving me and him alone since elders were a little away. I saw him doing something on his phone before he kept it back and I fiddled with my fingers and looked at him.

"Thank You." He looked surprised and looked at me and I was still fiddling with my fingers and looked down.

"Because ---?" He asked and this time I looked at him in his eyes to show him my gratefulness.

"For being so considerate. Uh- Simi told me that Aunty wanted to do a lot but you stopped them not wanting to burden us. Maa would've really felt burdened. So-----" My words trailed and I looked down again when couldn't look into his eyes for more time which were really intense.

"You don't need to thanks me. Now, that we are becoming a family, so it is my responsibility too to look after my this family. Isn't it?"

And I felt something in my heart when he when he said this family instead of my of his family, and somewhere I felt that my decision was right.

I noticed he was about to say something when Aayush came with Bai Ji. We both together touched his feet and he blessed us, with a happy life which made me feel content. Then our family asked him about some auspicious dates to which he smiled and told us about some auspicious dates in October, November and December, and after Maa gave him his ardaas he went away blessing us again.
