SAUMAYA

I looked around myself and smiled seeing the pleasent chaos in the house, and then looked back at my hands which were now currently being applied with heena by heena artist. And to say that my back was stiff from sitting like this for two hours now, won't be a lie.

I looked around my house, which was decorated simply but aesthetically with flowers, thanks to Dhiri and her Pinterest ideas. She and her friends from college had themselves decorated it and it was really beautiful.

With almost every relative arrived, the house was full. And currently all the ladies were sitting with dholak and are singing some of the wedding songs, creating the environment.

"Didi kya naam likhna h mehendi me?" The mehendi adrisha asked and I blinked.

(Sister what name should we write in the heena)

Before I could say something Dhiri and my cousins jumped in between and started teasing me.

"Saiyaan ji likh dijiye. Haina di?" I gave a deadpanned look to Adhira who giggled with all cousins and her friends.

"No No, write Hubby darling. It's modern." Swati, my Maasi's daughter said this time and everyone laughed while I was trying to control my smile and trying to scare them.

"It's Rudraksh." I muttered softly and heena artist smiled and continued with her work while I rolled my eyes with a small smile and blush when Adhira and others hooted.

"Already on the first name basis Di? Not bad. Not bad." Kiara, Adhira's friend teased further and I closed my eyes shut wanting to just run away from here. But they didn't stopped and kept teasing me for another half an hour making it difficult for me to sit with a straight face until Maasi shooed them off and I was grateful to her.

I looked back at my hand where his name was written hidden between the intricate design and I smiled.

Thinking about him, my mind went to yesterday night, when we got finally engaged. And then the dinner together at the terrace. The moments spent were beautiful and I smiled remembering how he noticed that I was secretly separating the capsicum from my pizza, but didn't said anything.

I also noticed how he would involuntarily caress the ring in his finger making me smile. His little gestures like wrapping shawl around me when he noticed that I was feeling cold, or refilling my glass of water when it was empty, making me feel comfortable when we were having the photoshoot, respecting my family and meeting with my relatives in the same way as with his family and constantly holding my hand when we were meeting with his relatives, these all meant alot to me. And I felt lucky to get him as my life partner.

I came out of my trance when finally my mehendi was done and I sighed in relief. For some moments my body felt numb for sitting in the same position for hours but soon I relaxed and felt good. I was about to stand up when Aayush came with a glass of juice and a plate of food making me smile.

Well, I was hungry.

He sat beside and started feeding me silently and I felt nostalgia. I remembered how when he was small I used to feed him with my hands and he would run away while I had to follow him and today it's the other way round. Today my younger brother is feeding me.
