SAUMAYA
"Come." I looked at him, My Husband, who was standing outside of the car opening the door for me with his hand forwarded for me to hold.
My husband --- it sounds so strange yet beautiful to my own ears.
Shaking my head, I slipped my hand into his and he held it and helped me to get down of the car. It was around 3 PM now, we had reached Mumbai at around 2 at noon, and with Mumbai traffic it took us almost an hour to reach here.
We stood infront of a house-- no-- a bungalow, but was I surprised? Well, no. I've already seen his house through the our video calls, when one day he gave me a virtual tour of the house, because he said that after coming here for the first time, I won't feel odd or clueless.
Yes, he is that thoughtful.
I came out of my thoughts as felt a tug on my hand and looked at me to saw him giving me a small smile and he nodded his head, to which I nodded back and we moved ahead.
At the entrance everyone were standing with Maa in centre, who had aarti ki thali, in her hand. She gave me a wide smile, which I returned and she put kumkum teeka on both of our forehead before rotating the plate around us.
After which Dadu took out a bundle of five hundred rupee and rotated around our head, before passing it to the dhol Wale who were beating the dhol, since the time we have entered and they blessed us.
"Saumaya, now push this kalash of rice with your right foot and bless this home with your feet." Choti Maa said and I gave her a smile before pushing the kalash gently and the rice fell on the floor. Then, I entered inside the house and we were directly took to the small temple within the house, to seek the blessings.
After which, we both took blessings of all the elders who blessed us happily.
"Saumaya, hope you're fever is okay now bache?" Chote Papa asked me and I bobbed my head.
"I'm fine now Chote Papa."
"That's good then, Radhika, Shivani, let's do the rest of the rituals." Dadi spoke in her authoritative tone at which Maa and Choti Maa nodded their head.
We both were made to say in the living area in front of each other. I noticed him looking at me with frowns but didn't said anything. I frowned myself thinking if I offended him in anyway.
Before I could get lost in my thoughts, Maa came back followed by a servant holding a big open utensil which had milk in it with some rose petals.
"Oh, am so excited for this game." Mayesha rubbed her palms in excitement and we smiled.
"You're not the one doing this rasam Misha." Shrey bhaiya said rolling his eyes and Mayesha glared at him. I think he loves to tease people.
"Before you start fighting, let's start the game. And I am on my daughter's side, please." Dadu said and I gave him my big smile and I saw Rudraksh frowning at him who just shrugged at him.
"Oh, am on bhai's side. Bhai win it." Mayesha said sitting behind him and he gave her a flying kiss making her giggle.
"And am on Bhabhi's side because I know she will win."
"Aaru? Traitor." Rudraksh spoke and Aarushi gave him a sheepish smile. Like this the family was divided into two teams and at the end Rudraksh had a sour face as he had only Mayesha and Dadi at his side, rest all were on my side. But, I could see him hiding his smile, so I got relaxed and we started the game.
