"You're looking very pretty Di. I'm sure the guy who is coming to see you will go flat on you."

I glared at her through the mirror while putting the bindi in centre of my brows. I took into my appearance and felt okay. I was wearing a baby pink pant Palazzo suit with a beautiful organza dupatta. I love organza dupatta and saree, but I just own two dupatta of organza and not saree, because, c'mon, they're expensive.

I looked at myself and thought of the day two weeks ago. Maa asked me to at least meet the person and then decide whatever it is. And I didn't wanted her to think more so I agreed, and time skipping to today, here I'm getting ready to meet the prospect for my marriage.

Two days after I said that I was ready to meet the guy, Maa told me that who he was. And I was surprised after knowing that he was Radhika Aunty's son. And when I realised that they're from Mumbai, I had all plans to deny, because no chance I'm leaving my family here alone. But Maa asked me to not rush my thoughts and I agreed to her for her happiness. I don't know why, but she seems happy after I got this alliance.

And then even Simran told me to go with the flow. To say that she was excited would be an understatement. She literally planned my wedding in her mind, and the thing that if I agree for this alliance and the guy too agrees, then I would be moving to Mumbai, where she would also be there. Even Vidyut assured me that he knows him, and he is a very good match for me. So, I just agreed to not overthink about this for now.

Though, I'm still very sceptical about this, but as I promised to Maa I would go with the flow and will see where the destiny takes me.

"I can't beleive di, Rudraksh the Mehrotra is coming in our house. Shucks!! Am so excited. I would be able to see him live and if this marriage thing went good, then he will be my Jeeju!!! Hayee!" I rolled my eyes first but by the end my heart was racing with itself.

Rudraksh Mehrotra - the only son of the Mehrotra's, one of the most influential family in Asia, infact globally. I was shocked when Vidyut filled us with the information. I never realised that I met The Mehrotra's at Simran's wedding. No doubt I'm so clueless about the outer world.

Although Shalini Aunty has sent his photo, but even before that Adhira had shown us his photo after knowing who he is. Well, he is her idol and she follows him on Instagram.

And did I told you, that he had a massive following of 90 Million on Instagram?

Yes.

I still wonder how did he even agreed to meet me?

Me? A simple middle class girl.

I was unsure about meeting them after knowing about their family even Maa too, but again, Vidyut and Simran made us understand. Vidyut told us that how down to earth their family is. And I need not to worry about standards ever, because they consider traditions and culture above any standards.

"Di---- where are you lost?" I looked at Adhira and bit my lip.

"Dhiri, am- am scared. I----" Adhira took me in her arms before I could say anything and I hugged her soaking the comfort.

"Don't be scared Di. There's nothing to be scared of. You are the best as you are. And if you forgot, let me tell you that they liked you beforehand only. And I know they will love you more now." I sighed and smiled at her breaking the hug.

Now, how should I tell her that I'm not scared whether this alliance will be fixed or not, infact, even I don't know what am scared about. I wish Simran was here, but she had to go to her native village with Vidyut, to get blessings from her grandfather who is old and didn't came to the marriage.

Dhiri got excited when the doorbell rang and I fidgeted with my dupatta. I asked her to go to Maa to help her and she went away leaving me behind with my thoughts.

I looked at myself in the mirror and frowned. I am such a plain girl, with nothing extraordinary. I still can't understand why Radhika Aunty even chose me? But whatever it is, I know that her son would never choose me as his wife.

He is an influential man, the CEO and MD of the Mehrotra Empire, studied from The Oxford, as Adhira and her Google search told, while I'm a simple high school teacher who did her postgraduate from an open University. If he is sky, then I'm the barren land. There's no match for us. And he will know by the end of the day. I just wish, Maa doesn't get upset because of this.

Exhaling a deep breath I looked at the door when I heard the knock and saw Aayush standing there. He looked at me and smiled and I smiled back at him. He entered and kissed my forehead and I don't know why, I just felt emotional. But controlling my emotions, in which I'm a pro by now, I lovingly patted his cheek.

"On one hand I don't want you to go away from me, and on the other hand I want just your happiness. Whatever happens today Di, just remember you are my Idol and you'll always be, an inspiration. I love you so much.", I chuckled not wanting to shed tears and hugged him.

"Shuts, Maa will scold me. I came here to call you and I started being sappy. Come, let's bewitch Rudraksh Singh Mehrotra with your first sight." I shook my head in disbelief and chuckled before glancing at myself for the last time in the mirror. And we both went outside to greet the guests.
