I was once on the road
and I can't recall if it was a dream or not,
but sometimes I pass supposedly new street signs and I could swear I've been there before,
once, when the world was much calmer...
and there were people, young kids -
I asked them where they were headed to,
I think they said "San Francisco"
and I remember vaguely, almost, asking them
"why?" and the only thing I remember clearly is a voice, and I think it was them, saying
"I don't know, why does it matter?" and that I had no answer once again, but realized that that was the answer and every time I now encounter a stop sign, I pass it by, and hope for that way I may find... San Francisco.

I'm totally in love with metaphors and this poem should be just that, pretty much everything in this poem...

this was very inspired by Jack Kerouac's 'On the Road' , the journey to San Francisco and also by Lana's song 'Looking for America' - two truely astounding pieces of art

thank you so much for reading! let me know your thoughts in the comments <3
