She just pouted, watching the librarian walked away from them with the candies that she brought.

She reverted her attention back to the guy with a disappointed look.

"I'm sorry. That's all I have. I'll buy more and give them to you next time." She said.

Jake just nodded in return, eyes focusing back on the book.

Not too long after, he felt her presence was not anymore there, indicating that she already left the place.

What the girl failed to notice was that, while the librarian was collecting the candies on the table, the guy sneakily pulled the candies on the floor closer to him using his feet, preventing the librarian to see that there were more candies on the floor.

He hid them between his feet until the girl left the place.

He bent down to pick the candies up before shoving them inside the pocket of his pants.

He then proceeded with his revision, pretending like nothing happened, while smiling to himself of course.

I just finished my meeting, at your school.
I bought you lunch.
Come to the meeting room quick before I make an announcement calling for you.

I'll be there in 10!

Mr. Ji was aware that his daughter didn't like it when other people, especially her schoolmates knew about his identity as someone influential to the school. Therefore, he always teased her about it.

What funny to him was that, she was trying so hard not to tell people that she came from a wealthy family but she always wore something that the others could not afford to school. She was plainly a slow-witted for that.

The bell rang indicating the break time. Jiyeon quickly dashed out of the classroom, making her way towards the meeting room. Her mouth kept on apologizing to the people she bumped on her way.

She kept on running and running in the hallway, until she bumped into someone's chest.

"Ackk!" She raised her head up to apologize to that person and she made an eye contact with the person she always anticipated to see every day.

"Oh, hi Jake!" She greeted, smiling at him, before proceeding to walk past him.

She then turned around, walking backward, didn't want to lose the sight of him.

"It was nice bumping into you! But I was currently in a rush, so see you around!" She spoke, raising her voice due to the noise in the hallway.

Jake too, still looking at her, making sure that she was being careful on her way.

"Jiye-" He was about to tell her something but he was too late when she was already on the floor.

"I'm so sorry!" Jiyeon quickly got up, brushing the dust on her skirt. She apologetically bowed at the students she bumped into before continue running to her intended place.

"She's so dumb." Jake mumbled, chuckling.

A knock on the door, indicating the arrival of his daughter. An automatic smile appeared on his lips.

"How's my daughter doing?" Mr. Ji greeted upon seeing her daughter entering the room.

"Just the same Jiyeon you always know." She replied.

"How's that boyfriend of yours?" He asked with the intention to tease her.

"I told you, Dad! He's not my boyfriend!" She argued back.

The elder let out a laughter before placing a food packaging onto the table.

"I bought your favourite snack on my way here. I think it got cold already. I bought extra in case you want to share it with Seoyeon." He stated.

Jiyeon picked up the food, bringing it into her arms.

"You're not coming home again tonight?" Jiyeon asked, hoping that he would give the answer that she wanted to hear.

"Hm. Not sure for how long. Two weeks at most." He nodded.

"I'm sorry for always being absent." He added, forcing a smile, trying to be bring up the mood.

"It's fine. I'll get going first. Be careful on your way." The girl replied disappointingly before making her way out of the room.

Jiyeon placed the food in front of Seoyeon.

"Let me guess, another week without your dad?" Seoyeon asked after trying to read her friend's expression.

"Yeah." Jiyeon replied short.

Seoyeon pouted, feeling bad for her friend.

"It's okay! I'll come over. What about a sleepover over the weekend?" She suggested, nudging her friend's arm, trying to lift up her mood.

"Sounds good." Jiyeon replied, forcing a smile.

"Great! Now let's eat this together." Seoyeon spoke, opening the lid of the packaging, handing the chopstick to her friend.

"Do you know Jo Yujeong?" Seoyeon asked while eating her ice cream. The girls were currently on their way home after school.

"Of course I know! She's every boy's crush, every girl's girl crush." Jiyeon replied.

"She came to my class this morning. Searching for Jake." Seoyeon stated, turning her head to look at her friend.

"What for?" Jiyeon asked.

"I don't know. She was being all shy. I guess you just got one more rival." She replied.

"Ahh is that so..." Jiyeon's voice gradually lowered as she spoke.

Upon noticing her friend's behaviour, Seoyeon paused her walking, standing in front of her.

"Hey, don't be discouraged! You're pretty too. I've always reminded you that, right?" Seoyeon said, encouraging her friend.

"But she's prettier." Jiyeon tried to argue.

"You're the prettiest! You're the nicest! Jake likes you the best!" Seoyeon fought back, reassuring her friend.

"What are you talking about? Stop exaggerating!" Jiyeon burst into laughter, slightly hitting her friend.

"I think he's getting more comfortable with you, though?" Seoyeon stated.

"He's talking to me doesn't mean he likes me. He's just getting used to me." Jiyeon replied.

"Really? I don't think so." Seoyeon responded, shrugging her shoulders.

As usual, Jiyeon stayed back after school today to cheer for Jake's game. That evening's audiences were a lot more than usual.

She just calmly sat on her seat throughout the game due to her energy being drained just by looking at the number of supporters presented in the court.

After the game ended, Jiyeon was about to approach Jake but Yujeong, the pretty girl from her grade that she and Seoyeon talked about yesterday beat her to it. She offered Jake a bottle of water that she had been holding in her grip while being all smiley in front of him.

Suddenly, Jiyeon recalled the rumors that spread across the students this morning, something about Jake asking the said girl out.

She pouted before turning on her heels, trying to leave the place.
