"Jiyeon!"

She stopped on her steps, turning around to meet eyes with Jake.

"I urmm.. forgot my bottle. Is that perhaps.. for me?" He hesitantly asked, pointing at the bottle that was neatly in the confused girl's grip.

She looked down at the bottle and then back the guy.

"Ohh y-yes.. for you." She stuttered while handing the bottle to the guy.

"Thank you, Jiyeon." He spoke, smiling to the girl.

"Are you heading home?" He asked upon seeing the girl awkwardly standing in front of him, not knowing what to do.

"Hm." She responded with a nod.

"Let's walk together." He offered, causing her to widen her eyes.

"I-I thought you guys will be having winning celebration after this?" She questioned.

Jake just shook his head in return.

"I don't feel like attending."

"I'll get changed first. Wait for me at the gate." He added. He then walked past her, heading towards the changing room.

Jiyeon cupped her blushing cheeks, preventing herself from smiling.

She then headed to the classroom to pack her stuff before walking towards the school gate as per told by Jake.

Not too long after, she saw a glimpse of the guy, lightly jogging towards her.

"Did you wait long?" He asked.

"Not at all." She replied, smiling.

"Let's go."

The walk was filled with silence. From time to time, the guy would take a quick glance at the girl beside him. He was amused by the fact that she was not being hyper as usual.

"Why are you being quiet around me? You're not usually like this." He broke the silence.

Jiyeon widened her eyes by the sudden question.

"I'm... not sure."

Jake chuckled at her response in which he found it cute. The truth was that, she was overthinking about the rumors and what she should do next, whether she should or not continue approaching her crush.

"By the way," The guy spoke.

Jiyeon raised her head to look at him, anticipating his next words.

"The rumor wasn't true. I didn't ask Yujeong out. I don't know where it came from but it's not true." As if he could read the girl's mind, he spoke, eyes never leaving from looking at the girl's face.

"I also only talked to her twice." He added.

Jiyeon blinked her eyes, unsure about what to do with the information but she felt much better for sure.

"I see." Was all she could say.

Jake bit his bottom lip, trying to break free from the awkward situation upon realizing that he was the cause of the awkwardness.
