The wind blew pass a school girl  who was standing in front of Lorei High School LHS which was one of the highly sort after school in country M, with her eyes closed.
I opened my eyes, and thought, 'were finally back', looking at our school. This is our final year here and I can't wait to see what adventure awaits us after we're down here. But what caught my eye was the eighteen years old boy standing not far away from me waving his hands in the gesture that I should come.
      'Jason' I muttered silently happily.
I froze for a while processing what was happening and what I should do, when I was finally about to wave back to indicate that I was coming I froze, like literally, because I heard the next sentence he said,
"Leah, what's taking you long, were gonna be late for the Assembly if you don't walk faster"
'Leah...Leah...ah Leah, oh Jason u never change, do you?' I sighed despairingly and awkwardly put down my almost raised hand.
'I guess I should have expected that, hah' I almost laughed sarcastically.
Just then 'Leah' our friend came over and we greeted each other excitedly and we walked towards Jason together.
Ones we caught up, we all started talking to each other and at a certain point I started walking slower till I could see their backs.
Leah, Jason and I, Kayla have been friends for a long time now,
'It all started ten years ago, when Leah and I were seven and Jason eight,...
It was the funeral of young Jason's mother and we all attended it with our parents since they all knew each other. Leah and I already knew each other before and occasionally met Jason when our parents met each other.
Young Jason was still sobbing even after going back to their home so Leah and Kayla decided to try to cheer him up.
In Jason's room, Leah went forward trying to console him and was about to pat him when Jason angrily pushed her hand away yelling
" What do you understand? How can u understand what I am feeling now? Maybe if you also lost your mum you might understand"
"Hey don't say that..." Before I could continue I saw Leah jumped on Jason with tiers in her eyes and started fighting with him.
They were all wrestling and shouting out aggressively to the point that I couldn't listen any more, so I decided to intervene.
As I was trying to stop them and swaying left and right with them...
    "PAH"
A loud sound echoed around us.
'yes that loud sound was a slap, a slap at a person's face, my face. Now I'm enraged'
""Kayla"" they both tried to explain but I'm too angry to listen to any excuses and said,
" I tried doing this the easy way put it seems you both don't understand that so we are going to do this the hard way, my way" I smiled at them at them evilly.
Few minutes later, "well I guess we have now all calmed down, right?" I asked.
Leah and Jason that were sprawled down with their hands on their faces replied, ""Yes, we're sorry "" they said in synchrony.
I looked at Jason "I know that you are going through a lot right now, that's why we are here, to tell you that you are not alone, we are here for you ok?"
Jason sighed and said apologetically, " hmm yes thank you and I'm sorry about earlier Leah"
"It's ok" Leah said while smiling and we all lay down on his huge bed to rest.
Two years passed and we all became closed friends, well at least Leah and Jason don't fight physically anymore but just constant arguing and yelling, which is still disturbing but at least that's better, yes better ' I kept on telling myself, no more light brainwashing myself, sigh"
One day as I was passing the park to reach where we planned to meet, I saw Jason.
"Ja...son" when I was about to call him out, I saw him standing defensively around a kitten with two  boys who looked like bullies hitting him and all.
I went forward and heard them saying, " lil J, why don't you just move away and let us take our kitty away with us" one of the boys said, "yeah"  the other said.
"No, it's not your kitty and you guys just want to beat it up like you did to it's mother " Jason said angrily.
"Hey," the older bully said pulling Jason's cloth and bringing close.
"You see we have been nice to you because of your father, if you don't step aside and let us take the kitty I'll..."
"You will what?" I said going closer to them.
Before he could continue I intervene like always, sigh I seem to be intervening in people's business a lot often now.
       "You'll do what?" I repeated.
"Ahh, Kayla, uhmm nothing exactly, nothing really, right?" He said looking at his partner.
"Yes, yes" he chorused. Then they both left quickly.
I stepped closer to Jason looking at him still standing defensively.
" They are gone now Jason" I told him.
"Yeah" he said weakly. Then he turned around to take the little kitty onto his arms.
"So what's this all about?" I asked him.
"Sigh, they were throwing stones at the kitty, I wandered why it didn't try to run away it turned out that it's mother is there and it was trying to help her despite it being so weak. It just remembered me of my mum too, so I wanted to... I wanted to help out, but I couldn't, if not because of your help right now" he said in a very low voice "anyway why did those boys seem so frightened by your presence?"
He looked up at me and asked. "Owwww, ahahaha," I laughed awkwardly trying not to make eye contact.
"So anyway, why don't we bury the mother and take the kitty to the vet?" I replied, changing the topic and luckily he seemed too distracted to notice.
"Yeah, ok but I want to keep the kitty with me since it reminds me of myself " he replied
"Ok then, what do you want to name him?" I Asked while we took off going back to the driver after carefully taking the kitty's mother with us.
"Uhmm, what about Zayne? " He asked looking at me.
"Alright that sounds nice, and don't worry, from now on I'll protect the both of you" I smiled.at him and when he wanted to refute I sped up to the car. That's how the day continued.
     *End of flashbacks*
  Present,
I guessed that's when things began to change.
I looked at them smiling softly and when I saw them looking back trying to look for me and sped up and caught them, then we all went to attend the assembly together, like we always did.
