                     Jason's POV

"I don't remember much." I told them, fighting against the growing headache I was feeling.

***Flashback***

Twelve years ago,

I was six then if I am correct, dad's business had just faced a major financial crisis. It was the first time it had reached that scale. Dad wasn't sleeping much, he had growing bags under his eyes and was constantly attending meetings. He spents most of his time at work.

(PS: Mum= Jason's biological mother, Mom= his step mother)

Seeing how he was, mum was determined to help him out in anyway possible. Even though mum didn't study anything related to business management, she was quick witted and keen. She started going to business meetings with him and helping the others in whatever way she could.

Things were manageable at the beginning, until it became hectic. They spent nights at the company and could barely come home. They then decided to hire a nanny that will help mum and dad to in  taking care of me since they were not able to be around everyday.

One day in the morning, Dad and Mum called me. When I went to them, I saw Mum dressed and standing by the door and another person standing behind her, she was hidden behind Mum. From the window I saw Dad was outside moving from one place to the other.

"Jason, my dear,..." Mum called out to me, looking tired yet worried.

I turned my attention away from the window and faced Mum, who was now squatting down.

     "Yes mummy!"

"...Sorry for not telling you earlier, everything happened before we could catch up with it. Anyway your dad and I have some urgent matters that need to be handled immediately. So we will be travelling to Country A for business ok my dear?" She explained, I could see the brim of her eyes getting teary.

"We won't be home for a while but we want you to at least have someone to talk to and play with while where gone." She said with tears.

I used my small hands to cup her face and wipe her tears away, "Don't worry mummy, I know daddy and mummy love me the most in the whole wide world,..." I opened my hand wide,

"...I also know that daddy and mummy won't leave me alone without a reason, so I have to be brave while your are not around so that you can go and finish your work faster!"

"Ayy, look at you being all grown up!" Mum ruffled my hair and we both chuckled.

She stood up and sniffed, wiping away her remaining tears, then motion to the woman behind her whom had been silently watching our exchange.

"This is Miss Amelia, your nanny, she will be taking care of you while we're gone. But she's more like a friend than a nanny, right Amelia?" Mum asked her with a smile.

Miss Amelia, a woman in her twenties, walked forward from behind Mum. "Yes, Mrs Walter." With a humble smile.

I stared at her curiously and she stared back with a friendly smile, "Jason, baby, why don't you introduce yourself" Mum suggested, seeing that both of us were stagnant at our places.

"Hi miss Amelia, I'm Jason Walker but you can call me Jason." I said with a professional smile. I hope it came out well, because mummy always said it looked cute.

"Hhh, hi Jason, you can also just call me Amelia. " She smiled beautifully.

"OK, thank you!" I smiled back.

"Awwwn! My baby's all grown up now! Even making a friend on his own!" Mum exclaimed, making me shy.

"All right, sorry baby but we have to go now, ok? We will make sure to bring you lots of things from Country A and call as much as possible. " Mum said after dad was waving at her to hurry up.

"OK mummy, be safe and make sure you both get enough rest." I said as she bent down and kissed my cheeks.

"OK dear, you too." She said then hurriedly left and entered the car while dad followed suite and they both waved from inside as the car moved.

I waved back with Amelia at the side until I could no longer see them.

"What do you want to do first?" Amelia asked after a while.

"I'm going to go complete my assignments now." I informed her. It was the weekend after all.

"OK, do you need any help?" She inquired looking at me.

"No, thank you, but I can do it myself. " I politely rejected.

"That's good. Don't be afraid to ask for my help is there's anything you don't understand." She offered.

"OK!" I yelled as I went to grap my books.

...

A week has passed now, Mum and Dad always made sure to call and say hi even if it's just for a minute. Amelia and I have been getting along quite well. I have lots of fun but I still miss Mum and Dad. I pray they come back soon and that they are well.

...

Now two weeks have passed, Mum and Dad don't call as much as before anymore. Apart from that, everything seems to be normal. That is, except one thing.

Every morning I wake up and feel like a car had run over me. My body aches and I can hardly move the entire morning.

One night, I woke up feeling thirsty. I checked my water bottle on the drawer beside my bed but it was empty.  Amelia must have forgotten to check it. Mum always used to make sure they was water inside when she puts me to bed.

Feeling that my mouth was parched, I climbed down from the bed, rubbed my eyes sleepily and walked to the kitchen. I didn't want to have to wake Amelia up from her sleep.

Reaching the kitchen door sleepily, I realised that the lights were on, before I could see properly I heard Amelia's voice. She seems to be talking to someone. Maybe on the phone. It was no longer the kind and sweet voice I knew but was filled with contempt and hatred.

"Ow come on! Working for these rich people is the worst! They think the own the whole world or something! Just because they have money! And you know what's more depressing is that I have to babysit a six-year-old! All because he's parents have to travel urgently!" She screeched, waking me up from any remaining sleep I had left.

'What is going on here?' I thought to myself. Before I had any chance to understand what was happening, I heard Amelia continue.

"The Song you sent me was fantastic, a great help infact! I got the chance to order that brat around all the long! Ahahah!" She laughed hysterically.

"The brat doesn't even know! Ahaha, everyday I see him wake up and look so, so, ahaha!" She continued. "You know,..."

    "BANG!"

I got scared and accidentally let go off my water bottle.

"WHO'S THERE!" She screamed. I froze and couldn't move.

"BAH!" She hastily opened the door and saw me. I fell down on the floor, she looked extremely angry.

"YOU! you heard all I said didn't you?" She asked but she looked like she all ready had an answer.

I hurriedly shook my head in denial till ot hurt but I didn't care.

"I know you heard me, come here!" She shouted. I stood up as fast as I could even though I stumbled and started running away from her.

"I said, COME HERE!" She yelled and chaste after me.
