Kayla's POV
After learning how to ski, we went forth and enjoyed the sleigh rides. By the time we were done, the sun was already setting.
I looked at the beautiful colour of the setting sun, turning around and seeing the two teenage boys lying down beside me, I said,
"I think it's about time we head back" I said, while standing up and dusting the remaining snow on me.""What? Noooooo!"" They both whined in sync while looking at me.
"Don't act like children's, we have to go, it's getting late"
I said, walking forward, without paying attention the their puppy eyes they were shooting my way.
After walking for a while, I didn't hear any noise from them so I turned around to check up on them, and...
"SMACK"
That was the sound of a snowball thrown by Jason, landing straight to my face.
Using my right hand to wipe the snow away,
"Are you kidding me...'SMACK'"
Greg threw another snow ball at my face while I was talking,
"All right," bending down and forming my own snowball,
"It's on", I said, throwing my snowball at Jason, who was not prepared and getting my next snowball ready.Laughter filled our surroundings while we all threw snowball at each other and running away from one side to another or hiding behind the snowmen we made before.
After a while, I lost track on Greg while concentrating on Jason, then...
"Ahhh" I screamed, when I large ball of snowball fell on my head.
Turning around, I saw Greg's mischievous smiling face which turned to laugher after seeing my reaction and expression.
We continued our little game before laying down again to rest.
After a while, we finally decided to head back and have dinner after taking a shower.
...
Going back to the warm comfy Inn and getting ready, we all came for dinner after a while at the restaurant located within the Inn.
Sitting down, we waited for the food to be served, Jason and I talked while Greg, started munching on some snacks and said a few words too.
Finishing our meal, which was surprisingly satisfying, Greg said curiously, surprising me,
"Kayla, do you have a boyfriend by chance"
I paused for a moment, not expecting this and answered honestly,
"No, not at the moment. Why are you suddenly asking me this?" I asked him, looking at him inquisitely.
"No reason, just curious. "
He said meaningfully, then went back to conversing with Jason, who also stopped what he was doing awhile ago to look at Greg.Things went on abd we later went back to our room that was oppositeto each other.
Arriving there, we said goodnight to each other,
"Today was fun" I told them before the head in.
" I had a lot of fun, more than I thought." I smiled at them,"And I learned a lot too. Thank you for inviting me. " I thanked the both of them.
"We had a lot of fun with you too" Greg said with a serene smile.
"And thank you for coming with us" Jason said, lookingat his brother then me.
A minute pass with us still standing in front of our room,
"You know, I'm quite envious of you Jason " I said with my head looking down at the wooden floor.
"You have a wonderful brother who cares about you even though your both not related by blood." I said, Looking straight at him, with the weak smile.
"I'm really envious of you," I repeated, sadly.
Just when it was starting to get tense, Greg intervened, breaking me out of my reverie.
"Now, now, let's not keep on standing here and go to sleep, we had a long day today and we'll have more tomorrow, I booked us for snowshoeing and a spa," he then grabbed the handle of the door.
"I don't know about you guys but I need my beauty sleep" he said, with an exaggerated hand gesture then walked in.
After that, I also went in, walked to my bed and flopped on it face first.
'Maybe I shouldn't have said that." I thought, then slowly became overwhelmed by sleep.
...
I opened my eyes to see nothing but darkness in my surrounding.'I'm I still sleeping?' I asked my self.
Walking forward, I saw a small girl, in front of me, whose face was vague, locked in a metal cage in the front, crying .
Moving my hand to try and open the cage, my hand slept threw, I tried a few more times but I couldn't grap anything.
Realising its probably just a dream, I entered the cage and sat beside the girl. I tried talking and touching her, but it didn't work.
I sat there with the girl, who was still crying, until I heard a door open.
Standing up to see who it was, I saw a shadowy figure getting closer to us. The girl was now looking up.
"Have you learned your lesson yet?" I womans voice, deprivedof emotions, which sounded awfully familiar said.
"Yes mother, I won't disobey your orders again, I promise." The girl who was previously crying before Had now wiped her tears.
"Good, good." 'Mother' as the girl said, was now standing in front of us, her face was also not clear.
"Umm, Mother, can I get out of here now?" The girl asked hesitantly.
"No you can't, you know the rules Kayla, don't you? If you break it, you have to be punished accordingly. No changes." Mother said while waving her finger in the gesture 'no'.
"I'm sorry Mother, I'm sorry! I won't do it again!" 'kayla' yelled out sobbing, when the cage started moving backwards.
While Mother just turned around and continued walking, not even turning back ones ot affected by the child's screaming voice for help.
...
Sitting up, I woke up, covered in sweat and breathing haphazardly.
"It's just a dream Kayla, it's just a dream." I continued to repeat these words to calm myself down.
After finally calming myself and getting my emotions in check, which took a few minutes more than I expected, I climbed down the bed and prepared myself for the day.
