Wednesday morning.
I had a pleasant night yesterday and nice dream of us during our holiday vacations before. It was refreshing. I climbed down my bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up. When I was done and dressed for school, I walked downstairs humming.
From the distance, I could smell the familiar scent of pncakes that my mother always made. Sh always used to cook for us meals whenever they were around even though they are cooks around. She also taught e how to cook, we use to cook dinner toether. Mom loves to cook and she makes spectacular and delicious food. She has the skills to prove it.
I walked forward and sat at my side of the table after greeting them both. Dad was helping mom with the food.
"Here you go bumblebee, your favourite. " Mom with a smil, placed a plate stacked with pancake and strawberry jam, my favourite breakfast meal in front of me. Bumbleee is the nickname the both gave me
"Thank you mom!" I replied filled with joy.
"And here is your orange juice to go with that, bumblebee." Dad passed me the cup to which I collected and thanked him too.
"Thank you dad!" I said energetically.
We then ate our breakfast together in harmony. After we were done, we packed our dishes and went to wash them.
It was now time to go to chool. As I was about to bade them goodbye, something caught my eye, a certain design in fact. I didn't notice before because I was too distracted. I stood where I was, close to the doo, for a while, trying to fully discern what I was seeing
"Anything wrong, bumblebee?" Mom asked with a smile standing close to dad in front of me, waiting to send me out
"Umm,...mom," I swallowed my saliva, a little nervous. "Where did you get that necklace mom? And here did you get that ring dad?" I asked.
"Aw! Do you like it?" Mom exclaimed full of smile, "a friend of ours gave them to ours."
"Uh-oh, I see" I said absentminded."Are you OK, bumblebee?" Dad asked.
"Hmm, it's nothing. " I replied, "bye bye now or I'm gonna be late." I waved to them.
""Bye bye, bumblebee. "" They both of them waved back as I gotinto the car in deep thought.
...
I walk down the hall of LHS distractedly, still thinking about what I saw in the morning, the necklace nd ring of mom and dad.
"Kayla!" Leah yelled out when she saw me in the hall, walking towards me along with Jason, breaking me from my thoughts. "Are you ready for the test?" She asked.
"Aw, yeah." I replied unfocused.
"Did you forget about it?" Jason asked concerned. Leah also looked worried.
"Uh, no. I just got a little distracted. " I explained and they seem to relax a bit.
"Phew! Then that's great since we're having it first period!" Leah sighed in relief. I smiled at her while we all walked to class. Leah and Jason chatted. They tried to engage me in it to when they saw I was awfully quite but I just couldn't bring mysel to it. Seemingly noticing, they just left me for the time seeing that the test soon start.
...
The papers were passed and the test had started. I wrote my name and other information on it but I was rather on focused.
'Question one,' I thought. 'Express the following angles in...' I couldn't see the question anymore. My head was filled with other unanswered questions.
