Rose angrily turned towards Will, her heart racing with disbelief and frustration.

"Girlfriend?" she hissed, her voice laced with incredulity.

Will was left speechless, caught off guard by her sudden outburst.

Without waiting for a response, Rose hurriedly unlocked her door and stormed inside, her mind reeling with a whirlwind of emotions.

"Get inside now," she ordered, her tone commanding as she gestured for Will to follow.

Obediently, Will entered and took a seat at the table, visibly shaken by Rose's demeanor.

Once inside, Rose couldn't contain her anger any longer. She slammed her hands down on the table, causing Will to jump in surprise.

"Explain!" she demanded, her voice trembling with anger and confusion.

"Rose, I know it's hard to believe, but we were dating," Will stammered, his expression a mix of regret and apprehension.

Furrowing her brows in disbelief, Rose reached for her phone and dialed Mira's number, her heart pounding with uncertainty.

Mira answered on the third ring, and Rose wasted no time in getting to the point.

"Is it true? Was I really dating Wil?" she asked, her voice tight with emotion.

There was a long silence on the other end of the line, amplifying Rose's anxiety as she awaited Mira's response.

"Yes, Mira finally said," her voice carrying a tone of reluctance.

Rose's frustration mounted. "Why didn't you tell me?" she demanded, her voice tinged with anger and hurt.

"I—" Mira sounded flustered, cut off by Rose's abrupt end to the call. Alone in her thoughts, Rose sank into a chair at the table, her mind swirling with a torrent of emotions.

Her gaze lifted to Will, her eyes narrowed with a mix of confusion and accusation. "Start from the beginning," she whispered, her voice barely above a breath.

Will nodded, his expression a blend of remorse and determination.

"You left your home due to a few issues with your parents," he began, his voice soft yet tinged with sadness. "Issues that you never told, not even me."

Rose listened intently, her heart heavy with the weight of forgotten memories and unanswered questions.

"When I met you, you always shied away," Will continued, his voice tinged with fondness. "But when Morgan paired us up for the cases, at least for work, you would open up. You were so passionate about finding things, and you're a great detective."

A flicker of recognition flashed in Rose's eyes as she absorbed his words.

"Even with the clothes you would wear, I was sort of attracted to you," Will confessed, his gaze searching hers for understanding. "So I decided to ask you out, and you turned me down. You actually seemed to be worried that I took a liking to you," he admitted with a rueful smile.

Rose's emotions swirled within her, she had questions bubbling up but she decided to let Will finish.

"As the great detective that I am," Will began, his voice laced with a hint of pride, "I did a little search on you and found out that you came from a very rich family. One of the 10 richest families," he whispered, his tone filled with intrigue. "But everything about you was covered up."

Why? she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, mirroring the question echoing in her mind.

Will's gaze softened as he searched her face, seeking understanding. "So, I did a few conjectures," he continued, his voice gentle yet tinged with uncertainty. "I maybe thought that your fight with your family was about being a detective, and that you were scared they would stop your career and the ones around you," he explained, his words laden with empathy.
