Have you ever loved someone so much that when that person is being hurt it is automatically felt like it is being done to you?

That's how Rose felt as her stomach dropped, watching her best friend frozen at the altar, rejected by the woman he had chosen to marry.

"I will not marry such an unorganized man," Rebecca hissed, her voice sharp with resentment, "a man who relies on everyone else to plan his wedding for him-who couldn't even tell me the location so I could prepare myself and not look foolish."

You decided to not come, Rose wanted to yell in frustration. Raven had called her.

Rebecca turned sharply, clutching her dress, and slapped the mask off Rose's face, sending it to the floor.

"Happy now? You ruined this!" she shouted.

Rose stared at her in shock.

"Why?" Raven managed, who looked at Rebecca with a stricken expression.

"You went to the beach with her. You promised I'd be the first to go with you, but you took her instead. Didn't you think I'd see the pictures?" Rebecca's voice was thick with betrayal.

What?

She continued, her anger spilling over. "The invitations I wanted? You couldn't even pay for them. You settled for a ridiculous design. And then you expect me to like this awful place she probably decorated?"

Her eyes flashed with contempt. "Do you think it's fun for me to see that smile of hers all day as if everything is alright? After I took her card, her masks, her dress, her liquor, and had to see myself next to this 'perfect' rich girl you call your best friend? Open your eyes, Raven-she is far from being your friend!"

"You stole her things?" Raven asked, incredulous, leaning closer.

Rebecca swallowed, glancing at Rose, who stood silently, staring down at the fallen mask. "I... I thought she had told you," Rebecca whispered, her voice faltering.

She quickly hardened again. "Anyway, there's no way I'm marrying you today. This has been a disaster. We'll do it another time-with better organization. And next time, you can pay for it all yourself. No Rose, no Riley, no Teresa."

"You're kidding?" Rose heard Teresa murmur.

Rebecca pressed her lips together. "Ask him what he's even paid for in this wedding! This ring isn't even his own!" she yelled, ripping the ring from her finger and tossing it at Raven's face.

The ring struck Raven's neck, leaving a faint line, and he caught it in instinct, clutching it to his chest.

You have the money I gave you, money you refuse to answer me about, for the banquet, the waiters, the wedding planner, half of the wedding gown, and I bought the wedding rings. Raven glanced down at Brianna, who held a small pillow with a box containing two rings. The child looked between everyone trying to comprehend the situation.

However, Raven could not utter a single word as he felt that his face had been slapped a dozen of times. The silence hung heavy, the weight of everything unsaid bearing down on him.

Rose could only watch as her best friend drowned in silence, unable to utter a single word or reproach against Rebecca. She wanted to scream, Say something! but her voice was locked inside. Instead, she watched helplessly as Rebecca turned and began walking away, leaving everyone in stunned silence.

A flame ignited in Rose's chest. She couldn't stand the look on her best friend's face any longer.

She noticed the groomsmen, frozen and uncertain, unable to move.
