Rose stepped out of her room to find Raven and Lucas waiting for her. Raven looked ready, his expression light, while Lucas wore his usual smirk.

"You guys are incredible," Rose said sarcastically, eyeing them both.

With matching grins, they followed her out of the apartment.

Downstairs, an army soldier in uniform was already waiting beside a private car. He opened the door for her, his movements precise and professional.

"I wonder who he is," she heard Lucas mutter, his curiosity piqued.

Rose felt a flicker of unease, but she pushed it aside as she slid into the car. Raven and Lucas climbed in after her, their eyes scanning the security detail outside. It was obvious even to them that the setup was far more sophisticated than what they were used to. Raven glanced around, his brows furrowed slightly.

Rose turned her attention to the window, her thoughts wandering as the car moved steadily through the streets. She barely noticed the time pass until they came to a sudden stop. Looking outside, her confusion deepened.

"Are you sure?" Lucas asked the driver, his voice skeptical.

"Yes, sir," the man responded firmly.

Rose blinked in disbelief. They were parked in front of a Burger King.

"We are upon a miser," Lucas scoffed. "We can leave if you want," he added, glancing at Rose with mild amusement.

"Is it too little for you?" Raven teased, chuckling as he leaned closer to her.

"No, it's just that..." Rose trailed off, her eyes lingering on the restaurant.

Her fingers hesitated on the door handle. The place was guarded by several army men, their presence unnerving. Was it just a coincidence? Her stomach fluttered with unease.

"Rose?" Raven asked, noticing her hesitation.

Rose stared at the building, something stirring inside her. She'd waited years to eat here—years. Could it really be?

"I don't recall ever eating here," she said, more to herself than to them.

"You did lose your memories," Lucas pointed out with a chuckle.

Rose nodded absently. But no, she was sure she had waited to eat here. It had been a plan, something they had talked about during those fleeting two minutes after their secret meetings. She bit her nail nervously.

"Did Mom give you his name?" Rose asked Lucas, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"No, she just said to make sure you came."

After a moment of hesitation, Rose stepped out of the car, her steps tentative. Raven and Lucas followed closely behind her, trailing as she walked toward the entrance.

Inside, Raven and Lucas were escorted to a corner table, their amused expressions telling her they planned to keep an eye on her.

Rose's gaze scanned the room until she spotted a man sitting at a table on the far side, his head turned toward the window. He hadn't dressed up much, his casual appearance almost making her laugh. She could feel Raven and Lucas's eyes on her as she approached the table.

The man turned, his face now visible—and Rose's heart fluttered.

He immediately stood up, his posture polite. "Jonathan Adler," he said playfully, extending his hand.

Rose couldn't stop the smile that spread across her face. "Roselyn Hansley," she replied, shaking his hand.

"I know," he said softly, his words holding a deeper meaning as their hands lingered for a brief moment.
