Over the next few days, Rose found herself waiting outside Raven's place for an hour every morning, hoping to catch a glimpse of him coming or going, but he never did. She constantly checked her phone, longing to explain herself to him, to offer some sort of explanation, but the opportunity never arose, and her mood remained somber. After work, she repeated the same routine, even going as far as knocking on his door, but she received no response.

Will maintained his distance, though she would catch him watching her.

Mira seemed uncertain how to approach her, likely feeling guilty. Rose wasn't angry with her, just saddened by the lack of communication. If Rose had known about Will, she would have handled things differently, perhaps dealing with Will first before pursuing another relationship. As a result, Rose found herself at a loss on how to handle their interactions.

At work, Mira hadn't called Rose out of the office. She spent her time doing paperwork, making phone calls, and conducting indoor investigations. She also followed Morgan's advice and reviewed her coworkers' files. Despite the monotony, the occasional successful resolution of a case brought her some satisfaction, as did the company of her new friend Eddy and good food.

As for her parents, they kept in touch with her through occasional calls, and they were planning to visit in 5 weeks, deciding to go out to eat together. This prospect brought Rose a sense of anticipation.

As July arrived, Mira's team received their bonus obviously winning, and when the teams were reshuffled, Rose decided to pair once again with Mira. Mira couldn't help but steal glances at Rose, surprised that she hadn't gone to a different team. Meanwhile, Rose noticed Will tightening his hands, a subtle sign of his discomfort or agitation.

Soon they were dismissed.

Mira and Henry, their new teammate, headed towards her office while Rose went to fetch a few papers she needed. Once inside, she felt someone trailing behind her.

"Will," Rose greeted as she turned around.

He tensed at the formality. "I thought that if I gave you space and time, you would reflect on us," he accused.

Rose turned to give him her full attention. "You thought I was kidding?" she asked, surprised.

Will pressed his lips together, his expression unreadable.

As Will spoke, another voice joined the conversation, and Rose soon saw another woman, Paula.

Will turned towards her, and Paula's eyes landed on Rose. Rose could sense the disdain emanating from Paula's expression.

"Rose," Paula greeted with a tight smile, but Rose could see the insincerity behind it.

"Ms. Keys," Rose greeted, her voice tinged with a hint of icy formality, and Paula straightened, her discomfort palpable.

"I heard from Morgan that you were the one who placed the mask on the day of my training. I haven't settled that score with you, so please, when you try to greet me, at least wipe that look of disgust off your face. Otherwise, I'd prefer you refrain from doing so," Rose said straightforwardly, her words carrying a mixture of annoyance and determination.

As Will instantly defended Paula, Rose felt her frustration mounting even further. "There's no need to act that way," he interjected. "Paula was already suspended for that. It was just a joke," he stated.

"A joke?" Rose's voice was edged with disbelief.

"I didn't know being a victim was a joke," Rose countered, her tone firm and resolute.
