Mark, Sasha, Jonathan, and Rose sat in the secret room, the glow of the computer screen illuminating their focused faces. They were reviewing the flood of comments and reactions from the day's press conference.

"Well," Sasha said, with a satisfied smirk, "with this, Rose has the public back."

Rose beamed, but the warmth of Jonathan's gaze caught her off guard. Their eyes met for a brief moment, and she felt her cheeks flush. Embarrassed, they both looked away quickly.

"What are you two, ten?" Sasha teased, laughing as she gestured between them. "Seriously, though—your chemistry worked wonders. It completely sidetracked the media. They could have grilled you on the murders or the investigation, but nope. Right now, all anyone's talking about are the pictures and that kiss."

Jonathan rubbed the back of his neck, looking equally embarrassed, while Rose tried to suppress a grin.

"Well," Mark said, leaning forward, "it's bought us time. That's what matters."

They all nodded in agreement.

Rose glanced at one of the headlines on the screen, where comments speculated about the strength of the Adler and Hansley families joining forces. She sighed, a mix of relief and unease settling in her chest. Their undeniable chemistry or so was said had kept accusations of it being a calculated union at bay—for now.

To address the speculation, she had uploaded photos of Jonathan and her from them. Alongside the pictures, she'd explained how they had inevitably found themselves working together and things had been a coincidence, not a strategy. Most of the public ate it up, claiming their romance was "meant to be."

Still, the fallout was evident. Rose scrolled through a flood of comments from fans lamenting their "broken hearts."

"How's Wyatt?" Rose asked, breaking the silence.

Sasha pulled up her phone, tapping into the camera she'd discreetly set up. They all leaned in to watch as Wyatt appeared on the screen, furiously typing away on the computer. His focus was unrelenting, his determination evident in every keystroke.

They exchanged glances, sighing collectively.

"It looks like we can trust him," Mark said, his voice cautious but hopeful.

"Yeah," Sasha added with a nod. "He's taking this seriously. I think he's all in."

"Let's move on to planning the operation at the orphanage," Mark said, his voice cutting through the silence.

The group nodded, their expressions turning serious as Jonathan immediately began analyzing the situation. He pulled the map onto the table, spreading it out for everyone to see.

"Our priority should be intercepting the children on their way back," Jonathan said, his voice steady and calculating. "If they're expected to return in two days, that would mean late December 12 or early December 13. Likely under the cover of night."

He circled several streets on the map. "These are the only viable routes for them to return to the orphanage. If they're using the same type of transport Rose described—"

Rose's stomach churned, but she nodded. "Then I can program the detection system to flag those vehicles or any other big vehicle," she said, her voice tight. "But once we intercept them... where are we going to take those children?"

The room fell silent for a moment.

Sasha broke the stillness. "Should we get inside the orphanage first? Then intercept the children on their way back?"

Jonathan's brow furrowed, considering the suggestion. Mark, however, leaned forward, his voice dropping to a whisper.

"We could just blow the place up."
