"How do you know that?" Rose asked, her curiosity piqued by Mira's revelation.

Mira swallowed nervously, her gaze flickering away for a moment before meeting Rose's eyes. "You showed up at my door, asking me to help you dress up," she explained, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "I did help you, but when I asked you about it, you mentioned that if I knew, I'd be in trouble, and then you ran off."

Rose leaned on the chair, her mind reeling with the implications of Mira's words. "And then?" Rose prompted, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Will," Mira continued, her voice barely above a whisper. "Will said you called him, and when he arrived, you were being drowned by a man, and he shot him."

Rose's blood ran cold at the mention of the drowning, the memory of her nightmares flooding back with terrifying clarity. She stood up abruptly, a sense of panic rising within her.

Mira mirrored her movements, concern etched across her features. "Rose, it wasn't my intention," she pleaded, her voice tinged with desperation.

A sudden headache pierced through Rose's skull, causing her to clutch her head in pain. "Rose?" Mira's voice sounded distant as Rose struggled to regain her composure.

"I'm fine," Rose reassured, her words strained. "We should probably go," she suggested, her voice wavering slightly.

Mira nodded, her expression filled with worry as she reached out to support Rose. Together, they made their way out of the coffee shop, each burdened by the weight of their shared secrets and the uncertain future that lay ahead.

We began going back. Rose eager to shift the focus away from the unsettling conversation asked about will.

"So who is Will? Is he here?" she asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

Mira hesitated for a moment, her expression guarded as she carefully chose her words. "Paula and him went to investigate a case," she replied cautiously, her tone betraying a hint of apprehension.

Rose nodded, accepting Mira's explanation as they reached their floor.

"I have to thank him later," Rose remarked, her gratitude evident in her voice.

"Yeah," Mira replied uncertainly, her gaze flickering away for a moment.

Curious, Rose surveyed the office floor, her eyes scanning the rows of doors and desks until they settled on a particularly grand office. "So which one is his office?" she inquired, gesturing towards the imposing structure.

Mira followed Rose's gaze, her expression thoughtful. "That one," she confirmed, pointing through the blinds of Rose's office window to the office in question.

With a nod of understanding, Rose turned her attention back to her own workspace, her mind buzzing with questions and uncertainties. As she settled into her chair, she couldn't shake the feeling that there was much more to uncover about her past-and about the mysterious Will who seemed to hold a crucial piece of the puzzle.

"Usually that office is given to the best detective," Mira added.

Rose bit her tongue, her mind racing with insecurities. Did that mean she had a smaller office because she wasn't as skilled a detective?

"He was given that office as soon as he informed of killing the serial killer," Mira sighed, her eyes widening as she glanced at Rose.

Rose fought to maintain her composure, refusing to let her emotions overwhelm her. She couldn't keep running every time the topic was mentioned. Instead, she forced herself to take a deep breath and focus.
