It's been a week and a half since Kuroba Saki has taken Madoka, Cho and Gina into her Geisha household. She has given the girls time to adjust to their new surroundings. They ask Saki about the history of Geisha since Sachiko/Kuki didn't bother to tell them which upset Saki.
"The Geisha in Inazuma has a long and storied history," Saki began, her voice calm and measured. "The first Geisha houses were established in Inazuma City over three hundred years ago. They were originally intended as a form of entertainment for the samurai class. As time went on, geisha became known for their skills in music, dance, and conversation, as well as their impeccable manners and grace."
Cho is now at the age to start her training to become a Maiko. She begins her first training in the dance training room. "Now Cho, as you dance remember that the dance is a form of communication, not just physical movements. The way you move your body, the expression on your face, even the sounds you make with your feet should all come together to tell a story." Saki watches Cho carefully.

Madoka and Gina were watching. "She's doing good on her first try," Madoka said, a note of pride in her voice.
Saki nodded in agreement. "Yes, Cho has a natural talent. But remember, training is just as important as innate ability. You must all continue to practice and hone your skills if you wish to become successful maiko." She turned her attention back to Cho, offering a few more tips and corrections.
Cho took a deep breath, focusing on Ms. Kuroba's words as she continued to dance. She could feel the rhythm of the music guiding her steps, and with each movement, she tried to convey a different emotion or story. Her body flowed effortlessly, and her expression shifted seamlessly from playful to seductive to pensive. The practice room echoed with the sounds of her wooden sandals scraping against the floor, each striking a precise and musical note.
"Good job Cho," Saki complimented. "Thank you, Madam Saki" Cho said, her voice breathy from exertion. She bowed deeply to her mentor, her hands pressed together in the traditional gesture of gratitude.
As time went on Saki hired a Shamisen teacher for Madoka (since she didn't learn how to play a shamisen early on) and Cho to learn how to play the shamisen.
"Now then, let's begin," the Shamisen teacher said, adjusting his thick-rimmed glasses. He placed the shamisen in Madoka and Cho's lap, showing them how to hold it properly. "The right-hand goes here, and the left hand here." He demonstrated a few basic strokes before nodding for them to try.
