Chapter 3~Screwing Up

At work Monday, Camryn informed me when I came through the door this morning that she was going to have a band coming up here later in the day to talk about a photo shoot and such. The reason they'd be in here instead of a conference room was because the conference room on this floor was being used, and she wanted to make sure I wouldn't mind. I didn't care, it wouldn't bother me any. I have bands up here to talk about touring and shows all the time and she never minds it. 

It wasn't until around one in the afternoon the band came up here, and a knock at the door gave signal they were here. Camryn got up from her desk, saying that had to be them. Apparently, they were late by fifteen minutes. I was sitting at my desk, eating an orange I'd just peeled as she opened the door. 

"Sorry we're late, we were in the studio and Syn here kept messing up on a certain part of his solo and insisted we couldn't come up until it was perfect." I heard a voice say. Thinking that it sounded an awful lot like M. Shadows, and Syn was used as short for Synyster Gates here, I glanced up at the door.

I nearly choked on an orange slice when I saw all five members of Avenged Sevenfold filing into the room, Jimmy was the last to come in. I looked away quickly and tried to get myself under control. It wasn't that I didn't want to see them or him, but a little warning that they were the band coming up here would've been nice! 

"That's ok, just sit down and we'll start discussing." Camryn said as they came in.

As Camryn shut the door and turned around, she gave me a motion with her eyes to Jimmy, and I mouthed for her to shut up. She just rolled her eyes at me and sat back down behind her desk. Thankfully, none of them really seemed to notice me. 

Now it's almost as if I kind of want to talk to Jimmy again and kind of don't. I still just get nervous, because of our little one-night stand that resulted in our daughter. Hopefully this won't last for long if I plan on finding a way to tell him. 

I kept my eyes averted from all five men, and focused on eating the rest of my orange and looking at my laptop screen. I was reviewing one of the music videos for the band I was assigned to, I was supposed to be looking for any mistakes or things that needed to be added in. Since I could no longer focus on the video, I just paused it and stared at the paused image like the world's biggest idiot, with nothing playing out of the earbuds I had in. To say the least, I felt extremely stupid right now.

To make me feel slightly less stupid, I just put on some music from a playlist so that something was actually coming out of my silent earbuds. Not knowing what else to do, I took out a notepad and doodled on it, making it seem like from their distance that I was taking notes off of whatever I was doing on my laptop. 

At one point, I decided to look over, so I slowly moved my eyes in the direction of Camryn's desk. Matt and Brian were currently the ones talking, while Zacky and Johnny listened closely, seeming focused on the discussion. Jimmy, however, was kind of just looking around almost like he wasn't really listening at all. He was sitting more off to the side of Camryn's desk than in front of it, with Brian next to him. He turned his head and looked right in my direction, and just as I saw the recognition come across his face, I looked away and went back to doodling. 

They were there for only half an hour talking with Camryn. I only heard Jimmy's voice twice, I took it that he was enjoying being off in his own little world like he seemed to be earlier. A couple times I felt like I was being watched but I didn't dare look to find out.

"So we'll meet up in a couple days for the photos?" Matt asked Camryn as they all stood up. 

"Yep, and try not to be late this time." I could tell by her voice she was only joking.
