Elise's POV
For New Year's Eve, Abbie was staying with Jimmy's parents for the night because they were going to take her to see the fireworks on the beach. This way, Jimmy and I could stay up late to watch the countdown without her sneaking out of bed to watch it with us when she's not supposed to be. Last year, I didn't even get past ten o'clock trying to watch it because she kept getting out of bed and hiding around the corner, but she's not very good at staying still so I won't hear her. She'd already tried begging Jimmy and I to let her stay up this year, but we rejected her ideas and told her she couldn't stay up that late.
This morning I'd gotten her packed for the overnight, and Barbara and Joe have already picked her up and taken her to her place. They left about an hour ago, and it's four in the evening now. Abbie was quite excited to see pretty colors in the sky tonight, the fireworks start at eight, the same time the New Year's special on TV starts.
I was sitting on the couch, watching TV when Jimmy came into the room with his phone in hand. I looked up at him and he smiled a little as he leaned against the wall, under the archway.
"Hey, Matt just texted me. He said that they're all getting together and going out to eat in a little bit to celebrate New Year's. He wants to know if we want to come too." He said.
"Sure, did he say where we're eating?" I asked.
He nodded. "Yeah, at Uno's Bar And Grill on the bar side. So you wanna go?"
"Hey, if there's food, I'm there!" I exclaimed, and he laughed.
"Well alright then, that makes two of us. Let's go!" He motioned to me and went back around the corner. I turned the TV off and got up, walking into the entryway to see Jimmy already with his shoes on and pulling on his leather Avenged jacket. I got my shoes on and decided not to bother with getting my sweatshirt even though it was supposed to get cooler later, but I didn't really care. We walked out to his car together and got in.
The ride there went by quickly as we listened to music and rocked out along with it, creeping the people out beside us whenever we came to a stop. We always laughed at the expressions on their faces, and there was one guy who actually started headbanging with us.
We met everyone inside, telling the girl at the front of the restaurant that we were here with friends, and she led us to where they were sitting at the bar, bringing two menus with her. They greeted us happily when they saw us, wishing us a happy New Year. Jimmy and I got up onto the stools next to Brian and Sabal, the kids must also be with their grandparents tonight too.
"So where's Abbie tonight?" Zacky asked, looking down the bar at us.
"She's with Mom and Dad, they're gonna take her to the fireworks." Jimmy answered him.
"Oh yeah, my parents are taking Isaac to see them too." Johnny said. "Maybe they'll find each other there."
Soon after arriving, Jimmy and I ordered our drinks and food, the others had already ordered and were getting their food about the time we placed our order. They ate slowly though, to let us catch up, and before long we got our own orders and then they gobbled down as much as their mouths could hold. The guys did, anyway. The girls aren't as much of animals as they are.
It was obvious what Brian and Sabal intended to do while having the house to themselves for tonight. Brian kept making suggestive faces at her, with suggestive eyebrow wiggling, and she would giggle in a not so innocent way. The rest of us tried not to gag or throw up.
"Oh c'mon, like the rest of you haven't wanted the house to yourselves to get it on for the first time in a while!" Brian defended his and Sabal's case. "There's gotta be at least on other couple here out of us that has the same idea for tonight." He took a drink and crossed his arms over his chest defiantly, looking at all of us. None of us said anything, but the looks on Zacky and Aubrey's faces told us that they were that other couple. Brian noticed them, but he looked directly at Jimmy and I, smirking, and said,
