Doctor Frank Visconti was a tall, bespectacled man with blonde hair. He looked worn out. His shirt was only tucked halfway and stubbles that were almost a week old were growing on his face. He looked relieved when he finally saw Victoria.
"Vic! You're here, finally. I was worried you might not make it."
"I'm sorry. We were outside the city that's why it took us so long. These are Terry and Fred, the current guardians of the patient..."
The doctor exchanged greetings with the couple
"... and this is the patient that I was talking about."
Victoria nudged Luna towards the doctor. She stepped towards the unkempt man.
"I'm Luna Jones. Nice to meet you, Dr. Visconti."
"Hi, Ms. Jones. I'm sorry for my unkempt appearance. I was busy in the lab but then the hospital called me back for an emergency operation. This will only be a quick examination since we're not in the hospital and we don't have access to more relevant equipment. Are you going to be okay with that?"
Luna nodded in confirmation.
The doctor brought his stethoscope out and checked her current state. He also asked her a lot of questions regarding her head's condition.
"I want to see the results of the tests that you have taken so far. Did you bring them with you?"
Luna took the documents out of her bag. She always brought the papers with her, just in case. It proved to be useful at this moment.
The doctor scanned the documents the moment he had them in his hands.
The four also waited silently. Terry was clasping her hand as she prayed that only good words would come out of the doctor's mouth.
Luna was also hoping for that. Her heart was pounding fast and its sound drowned the noise made by the crowd busily moving around them.
The doctor sighed deeply and put the papers down. "To be honest, nothing is wrong with your doctor's report Ms. Jones. I believe that only time will be able to help you regain your memories. You don't really have to push it, you know, because sometimes, the stress of forcing things just makes it worse."
But I can't afford to be dilly-dallying here. My indebtedness to Terry and her family just increases each day!
Luna just sighed upon hearing the doctor's words.
"But, if you wanted to be really sure, please wait for me to come back. After I'm done with the operation, I will be back here in Costa Syniale. The conference and the things that I was doing inside the lab were not yet done anyway. Will you be satisfied with that?"
Luna finally smiled at the doctor. "Thank you very much, Doctor Visconti!" Luna happily shook the man's hand.
The pre-boarding announcement sounded through the speakers, and the doctor's flight was announced. The passengers were called to board the plane.
"That's my flight. I have to go now."
"Thank you very much for giving us time, Doctor. Have a safe trip." The doctor nodded at Luna and turned his body to face Victoria.
"I'll go ahead now, Vic."
"Okay. Take care, Frank. Thank you very much for the time."
"No problem." Frank also said his goodbyes to Terry and Fred.
The doctor rushed to the plane and they stood there, looking at his back.
"Well, our trip here was not wasted after all. Everything ended on a good note. Let's go back to the party, shall we?"
