If Zeno had not reacted on time, the cut would have been deeper and he would be lying on the ground regurgitating blood. He ignored his injury and continued holding down Hana's hand. "Hey, I'm Zeno. Do you remember me?"

She did not react, still pushing the knife toward him. "Okay, please stop trying to stab me. I'm not going to hurt you. See? We're currently in the hospital. So, can we have a ceasefire for a moment? I need to call the doctors and the nurses so they can check on you."

Still, she did not budge.

"Hana?"

It was as if her real name was a switch for her to return to her senses. She realized where she was and what she was doing so she stopped pushing the knife toward him. Zeno took the chance to slowly back away from her.

"Good girl. Can I have the knife, please?"

Her guard went back up and she pointed the knife toward him again.

"Oh, okay. I get it. You can have your knife. Let me just get the staff."

Zeno moved to buzz the staff and they all rushed into the room. They stopped in their tracks upon seeing the intimidating man with blood on his neck. He was smiling ear to ear while looking at the woman on the bed who was finally awake but was in a protective stance.

"Oh, the doctors are here now. Don't worry, they're just going to check on you."

The man went to sit in one corner of the room far away from her while the doctors tried to ease Hana into lowering her guard.

They had a hard time taking the knife away from her but they eventually did and they quickly went on with their usual procedures in checking a patient who just woke up from a coma before she started acting up out of nowhere.

Two male nurses mustered up their courage to talk to Zeno so they could put medication on his injury. The man just nodded his head without even bothering to look at them. His entire attention was on Hana and her doctors' conversation and he was listening intently to what they said she needed. The gloomy air around him vanished and the nurses let out a sigh of relief.

"You will be staying here a little longer for further observation. If you need any help, you can buzz us again." The head doctor then led his team out. One of the female nurses did not forget to secretly slip a note under her pillow. It said: "If you need help, tap one of the nurses three times. We will be back later to give you your medication."

Zeno saw the nurse's action and chose to ignore it.

"Hey, are you feeling fine now?" She looked at him for a long time as if she was trying to remember who he was.

"I'm Zeno. I saw you passing out on the road a week ago."

Hearing his name when she's conscious of what's currently happening made her realize that she knew him.

"Oh, thank you for saving me." She looked at his bandaged neck. "And I'm sorry about that."

He absentmindedly cupped his injury. "No, it's fine. It was not that deep anyway."

"Have you contacted the police, yet?" She spoke slowly but the man was patient enough to let her finish.

The man was taken aback He never thought of contacting the police because he already had the place cleaned.

"Oh, that slipped my mind. Let me call them up." He could feel Hana stare at him intently.

Should he call his men to act as policemen or should he have them contact the real ones?

He opted for the last one because he felt like he would definitely be doomed if she found out.

When the police arrived, Hana finally learned that all the police guarding her at the safe house died. The doctor survived and was reunited with his daughter but Hana was not happy about it. She knew he did it for the sake of his daughter but still a lot of people died.

"I want to send that doctor to jail. Is there a way to revoke his license as well?"

Zeno was listening to their conversation while he was pretending to read something on his laptop.

He smiled when he heard that Hana was interested in going after the person who betrayed her.

As expected. She bites back.

When the police were done with Hana, they also asked Zeno questions.

"What were you doing in that place? The area was quite far from the rest of the population."

"I was supposed to meet a friend in an exclusive club but the app kept on leading me somewhere else."

He lied smoothly and the officers just nodded while jotting down notes.

"I did not recognize her right away but when I did, I knew she was the girl I met at the pizza shop back in Princil."

Hana's head whipped faster than light to look at Zeno and their eyes met.

He remembered me?

The police only left when they felt like they asked all the necessary questions they had. They left in a hurry, thinking that they still had a lot of things to do. The person they were looking for seemed like a big fish.

"You remembered seeing me at that pizza shop?" Hana asked the moment the police were out of earshot.

"Of course, how can I forget that face?" Zeno approached her bed and sat beside her. "I'm glad you recognized me."

Hana remembered everything now. Knowing that he sent her to the hospital and looked after her, she decided she'd give him a space in her circle even though she did not like his casanova attitude.

Hana just smiled at him. "Thank you once again. Seriously, I didn't know what came over me. I thought I'd die."

But her smile was wiped out of her face when a sudden realization came to mind.

"Wait... you know my... name?"

He stopped fixing her blanket and looked at her in the eye. "Yes, you danced underground back in Lyvia, remember?"

Her jaw dropped. "You recognized me?"

"Why are you so surprised? You look the same to me. I was just shocked to see you in that place."

Hana's speechless.

How? Nobody has connected the dots before you.

When she finally recovered from the shock, she remembered Ericka and the life had she left behind in Princil.

"Oh, I need to contact someone. May I borrow your phone for a moment?"

Zeno handed his phone over and picked up his laptop to work on something while Hana typed a combination of numbers that she remembered by heart.
