"Ahhhhh!!!!"

It was the police officer who guarded Luna!

This was the reason why she was supposed to put her guard up. Her dreams usually had random characters popping out of nowhere and the only thing they did was scare her.

Because of the sudden flow of her memories, she let her guard down. Her heart almost burst out of her rib cage when the man showed up without any warning!

He stared at her with his wide eyes, blood was oozing out of their corners. His glare was harsh as if he was blaming Luna for his death.

His mouth opened and closed like a fish like he was trying to say something, but no words came out because his throat was slashed open. He was trying his best not to regurgitate blood out of his mouth, so he could utter some words. Unfortunately, it was a futile attempt.

The man crawled slowly towards her and was dripping his blood everywhere. The sight sent chills down her spine!

Luna wanted to get away but her feet seemed to be glued tight to where she stood. She tried moving in different directions but she was paralyzed from head to toe.

The officer eventually reached her. He grabbed her feet with his bloody hands and held on it firmly. It was as if he wanted to say that he wanted to drag Luna to hell with him!

Luna was scared shitless.

Damn! When will this dream end?!

The man got hold of Luna and used her body to help himself up. The sticky blood was all over her now. The pungent scent of the blood was overpowering and she felt like puking.

"Urghh..." The police officer kept on groaning, still trying to speak.

Luna hated this kind of dream the most. The happenings were actually short but it felt like forever for her who was suffering at the moment.

She wanted to get out of this dream but she's having a hard time controlling her brain. She had to move her fingers and toes outside the dream world to wake up.

However, fighting drowsiness was not an easy feat. Whenever she felt like she was going to wake up any moment, the bloody policeman was there to drag her down and keep her in the dream world.

It was a very tiring mental battle.

Her sleepiness was aiding the guy in her dreams! Damn!

She continued trying to wake herself up. Finally, her fingers in her left arm moved! She can feel her arm that seemed to lack energy. She tried to jerk it. She had a feeling that if one of her arms moved, she would successfully wake herself up and escape this bloody dream.

Her biceps constricted.

Just a little more...

Luna held her breath as she struggled.

All of a sudden, her eyes opened!

She unconsciously released the breath that she was holding in. Ha... Ha...

Luna woke up for real this time. She was lying down but she felt like she ran for miles as she slept. She looked around and realized she was alone in a dark room. She can make out faint silhouettes of some furniture using the illumination that the moon provided through the window blinds. Different medical apparatus were attached to her body and she can also hear the rhythmic beeping noises from the monitor.

I guess I'm back at the hospital once again...

The first police officer who watched over Luna died. She learned later on that he was Detective Ramirez. He was unmarried and had no family living with him, an only child whose parents died of old age a few years back.
