Hana could not believe what Veronica just asked her. "Really? Do I look like I'm that type of person?"
Veronica continued trying to look under her shirt.
"No, not the type to do something illegal but sometimes you have this side of you that suddenly transforms you into a daredevil. You learned shooting and martial arts and you bungee jumped, skydived, and cliff-dived on a whim. Sometimes it makes me wonder if you're trying to kill yourself."
Hana looked at Veronica.

Am I being too obvious?
"Stop being ridiculous. I just fell. It was an accident. Let's just head to the company now."
Veronica took her things and they walked to her car.
"I'll send you to the headquarters but you're heading straight to your floor to rest, Hana. You had a long flight. Costa Syniale? What are you even doing there? We all thought you were in Boa Vista."
She did not have enough energy to deal with Veronica's questions for now.
"We'll talk about that later. Let me rest for a while."
Even though Hana kept on insisting to the people around her that she was fine, her body could not hide the fact that it was still in the middle of recovering. Veronica let her be and as Hana slept, she contacted her husband and asked him to send a doctor to Hana's penthouse. The guy had too many questions but he held himself back because she was still driving and just followed his wife's request.

The two reached the headquarters with Hana still sleeping beside Veronica. Carlos eventually met them at the parking lot and Veronica immediately gestured to her husband to be quiet. "Why are you telling me to be quiet? Where's Hana?" He asked in a whisper.
"She sleeping in the passenger's seat and she's injured. Help me bring her to her room."
"She's injured?"
Carlos was not able to stop himself from raising his voice and that woke Hana up. Veronica hit his arm. "I told you to be quiet!"
"Hana, why don't you transfer to your room? It's better to sleep on a bed." Veronica cajoled her as if she was talking to a child.
"I'm not a child, Ver." Hana said as she rubbed her eyes to remove the sleepiness she felt. She got out of the car and faced Carlos.
"Ericka was crying over the phone. Is the situation dire?" Carlos was about to tell her but he saw his wife standing behind Hana, glaring at him.
"Ericka just missed you. Why don't you head upstairs and rest first? We can discuss things after you've rested." The husband and wife ushered the sleepy Hana to the top floor where she resided. She went straight to her bed and the two gave her some space.

In Hana's living room, the husband and wife whispered to each other.
"When will the doctor arrive?" Veronica asked.
"She has a scheduled operation that will last for six hours and will head here when she's done."
"That's good. Hana will have enough rest."
"Was it bad?"
"Her entire upper torso's bruised and she still has bandages on. She's wearing a long-sleeved knitted top even when it's too hot in here. I have not seen everything but my gut feeling is telling me that her injury is more severe than it looked."
"What the hell happened to her?"

Hana woke up when she felt someone shaking her shoulder. "Hana, wake up, the doctor's here to check on you." It was Veronica.
"Huh? The doctor? What?" Hana was not totally awake yet.
"Miss Hana, I was asked to check on your injuries. May I?" Hana nodded her head.
She couldn't get her way out of this anymore. Veronica has seen her injuries and she could also feel herself feeling a little more worn out than usual. She has not taken any medications yet and some open wounds were starting to hurt. She removed the sweater she had layered over her tank top. Carlos, Veronica, and the doctor let out a loud gasp upon seeing all her bruises. She even had more bandages on her arms and shoulders.
"What happened to you?" The doctor asked.
"I..." Hana turned to look at her friends.
"We're not leaving. Go on, spill the details." Veronica said as she glared at Hana.
"To summarize everything, I witnessed a murder, fell off a cliff and banged my head, lost my memories, got chased by the gangsters whose crime I witnessed, got caught by them, got tortured by them, got my memories back, survived, and now I'm here."
She narrated everything with a straight face that the horrified doctor thought of recommending a psychologist to her. Carlos and Veronica were speechless.

"Okay, let me check on you first."
The doctor broke the silence after Hana's speech. She did her job diligently and kept track of her findings in her notebook.
"You're in a terrible state. Why did the hospital let you go?" The doctor wondered.
"They did not allow it at first, I just convinced them to let me go since I heard I'm needed here."
"You told me it was an accident!" Veronica interjected.
"I lied. Just look at how you're reacting right now." Hana reasoned out. Carlos cursed in his head. If only he was competent enough, there would be no need for Hana to rush here even though she was injured.
"What about the police? Did you tell the police about the assault?" Carlos asked.
"Yes, everything's well taken care of. I just have to fix the issues here so I can go back to Costa Syniale and monitor their investigation."
"Are you sure you can work in that state?" This time, it was Veronica who asked the question.
"Yep, I'm fine." Hana assured her. However, the husband and wife were not convinced because after Hana answered the question, the doctor asked Hana to fix her posture so she could replace her bandages. They were now seeing the stitches Hana had on her body and the blue and purple marks that concentrated around her abdomen.
"You had an operation? I thought you only had bruises!"
"Yes, a broken rib pierced my lung."
All of a sudden the door to Hana's room opened. Everyone turned towards the door to look at Ericka who was now staring at Hana in horror.
