Neon sipped at the coffee, it was awful compared to many others, but for this place it was one hell of an improvement. Kid looked at the coffee with odd eyes, she didn't even like good coffee, and she doubted she even wanted to try this one.
Neon simply drank it to be polite to an old friend.
Mel took a slurp of her coffee before looking back to Neon, "what brings you by our little section of earthly hell, Neon?" she asked, "the thing about people leaving is the fact that they don't usually come back."
Neon nodded, "yeah... umm... I guess I came back around to see how everybody was doing, see the twins, see what's changed and what hasn't," he informed looking around, "looks like an entire world has changed since the last time I was here."
"It's like a whole different town," Mel replied, "but take a hint, Neon. Not everybody will be happy to see you, especially the twins."
Kid tilted her head.
"Neon, when you left a lot of people thought the timing was suspicious. Not only that, but when you left, we all felt pretty abandoned, especially the twins," Mel explained, "some might not welcome you with open arms like me."
Neon nodded, with what happened the last time he was here, he didn't think he could deal with being around here, so he put his escaping plan to action, a thing he held off only because of the people who were here. But then they all started to change, and soon enough, leaving had a better ring to it than staying.
Mel stood up and practically kicked Neon's chair over, only to catch it with one hand and her face was close to his, "so why did you come here, Neon Justly? What brought you back?"
Neon sighed through his nose, "I heard something," Neon informed, "I heard Ava yelling and screaming for someone to help her."
Mel blinked several times as she took this in and allowed his chair to sit straight. "W-Where did you hear about that?" Mel asked.
Neon tilted his head to Kid, "Like I said, unique. She's part of the supernatural realm," he explained, "I got tangled with them and stuck with her. She doesn't have her own voice, she can only mimic them and last night she mimicked Ava yelling at someone to help her." Neon still had no clue where she had even got the voice in the first place, but he wasn't taking it lightly, if there was even a chance something happened to her than he needed to know.
Mel shook her head as she looked to Kid, "no, shit, you are shitting me surely," Mel said.
Neon forced himself not to smirk, the last time he had seen her she was little, and hearing her this many years later swearing was almost funny.
Neon shook his head, "I shit you not. I being legit," he informed standing, "I didn't believe it either, but Kid here is unique, the bonehead out there is also. He's part of the Traveller Agents Police."
Mel went wide eyed, "the real Traveller Agents?"
Neon nodded, somewhat confused that she knew who they were yet he had never heard of them before he had practically been forced to join them.
Mel shook her head, "wow... maybe I should consider ditching this town as well," she stated pacing.
Neon nodded, "look Mel. It's nice to see you and all, but I just want to make sure Ava and Noah are okay and then be on my way," Neon informed.
Mel looked to him and scoffed, "just like you, Neon. You drag your ass back here only to leave again when you've got what you want," she stated.
Neon sighed and shook his head, "Mel... surely you know that's not true," he informed, "You know me better than that, surely."
