Neon didn't know how to react at first. Dominick now stood over him with two bullet holes, one in his chest, the other in his stomach.
Neon didn't regret his action, but he didn't know he had actually done it until after Dominick let off a choked gasp and fell to the ground.
The young thief was quick to his feet as he kneeled in front of Dominick and used his hands and his bag to press against the wounds. Dominick let off a deep gasp, but all his energy disappeared.
Dominick attempted to pull Neon's hands off him, but Neon refused to allow his hands to be removed. Neon knew that this would hurt, but if he didn't do this Dominick would bleed out. "Looks like you do bleed..." Neon stated numbly as he saw his hands were red.
Dominick let off a scoff. "Like you care..." He choked as his stomach vibrated slightly.
Neon rolled his eyes as he continued to press against Dominick's wounds. Dominick let off a wheeze as his face screwed into a moment of pain.
Neon pressed his bag harder against Dominick's stomach. "I'm going to die anyway, why are you doing this?" Dominick asked.
"Forgive me for having feelings," Neon replied as he resumed the pressure. "And forgive me for caring about Kid." That was the best answer he could give, because in truth he didn't know why he was slowing down the inevitable. Even with his hand presses, he estimated Dominick would be gone in a few minutes. "What was the point of all this?" Neon asked, "Why do this in the first place?"
Dominick smirked as he leaned his head on the wall. "Power Neon, simply because of the power you are allowed to get," he informed. "Whenever anybody is given the opportunity to have power they'll take it... I just got too greedy," he confessed as he attempted to sit up slightly. Neon allowed it as he let off a grunt of pain. "I guess I wanted the challenge, I wanted to see how far I could get before I lost it..."
"The power?"
Dominick nodded.
"Who would you have lost it to?" Neon asked.
Dominick seemed to find that question amusing. "You."
Neon raised an eye brow, "Me?"
He nodded. "Yes. You... each prefer you over me... You managed to get what took me years to do in a matter of a couple of months." He informed as he shook his head, "From the moment you gave my panda a name she's latched onto you and claimed you as her own. She didn't respond to any name I gave her for a few weeks..." Dominick seemed to shake his head. "She had pledged herself to you from the beginning... and there's nothing I could've done about it."
"Why did you leave the island anyway?" Neon asked, "If you have stayed then I never would've met Kid. Nobody would've gone after her, nobody would've known any of you ever existed."
Dominick blinked and it was like he had turned into a little boy as he cried, "Exactly..." His breathing was laboured. "I didn't mean to get tangled in this in the first place... but I have anyway, and it's changed me, thief. It's changed everybody!" he snapped. "Do you know how long it's been since I've even seen my mother? My brothers? They got to move on, but I couldn't because of some stupid game!"
Dominick's crying ceased. "Don't let them trick you, Neon..." Dominick mumbled, but he still smiled. "I let them trick me, I loved every moment of taking advantage of the two of them... but no matter how hard I tried, I fell in love with those two... and that was my mistake, because without realising it I let them take advantage of me. I let the power that curses them curse me..." Dominick's body started growing thinner and thinner. "But... thankyou, thief."
