Neon looked down and watched the ground come closer.
"Fuck..." he mumbled aloud as he continued to fall. He forced himself to remain upright or at least not to fall forwards or too far backwards.
Neon gritted his teeth as he aimed himself for a small patch of grass.
His mind was racing for the best way not to potentially cripple himself from the impact. His mind kept ending with a broken bone or potentially death. He gritted his teeth as he abandoned the doubt, the ground approaching him rapidly, he allowed himself to hit the ground.
But upon the impact to his feet he allowed the momentum to throw him to his knees and allowed himself to roll and stumble.
While a painful impact, that left his legs in numbing pain and his body tingling in annoyance and confused discomfort, he didn't feel like he had broken something. But that didn't mean it wasn't agonizing to move. He laid there for a long moment, How the hell am I even alive?
He ruefully let off a yowl of pain when he attempted to sit up and his ribs gave him grief. Before he could manage to stand up someone kicked him over.
The sudden kick and his compromised position forced tears in his eyes as he rolled a few meters away. Through teary eyes, Neon managed to look up and saw the blurred image of Dominick. Dominick let off an amused chuckle, "Wow, you just won't quit, will you?" He went to kick again.
When his foot made contact with Neon's side he held onto it, dragging himself closer to Dominick.
Dominick could hardly kick him anymore. He growled as he tried to kick Neon off, but Neon had the upper hand, or at least the tighter grip. Dominick kept trying to pry Neon off him, and in an attempt to keep Dominick from hurting him, Neon practically flipped Dominick, sending both of them to the ground. Neon crawled up Dominick's body and attempted to pin him, for a few moments Neon seemed to have the upper hand in their brawl.
But Dominick started pushing at Neon's face, blinding him. Neon lost sight of what he was grabbing, and his hands wrapped around Dominick's shirt with a fistful of fabric. The two of them squabbled for a time, neither not really inflicting damage but more awkwardly wrestling. Neon out of anger, Dominick almost out of amusement.
Neon's grip around Dominick's chest seemed to loosen something and when Neon could open his eyes he was blinded by the odd necklace beckoning with bright blue light.
Neon subconsciously managed to figure out what a glowing light meant, but before he could actually remember or piece together what that meant, he lifted his head and saw Kid standing there, a look of mild shock across her face. Her eyes looked to something behind Neon, before he could turn and look Neon was jerked backwards and his head locked by a strong arm. Neon almost spluttered from the sudden force.
Neon's hands wrapped around the arm in an attempt to loosen it, but his efforts were pointless and he knew it.
Live stood behind him, and made sure to hold him tighter and tighter, honestly hoping he would pass out before the hold killed him.
But Neon was a stubborn person.
He believed that if he jumped off a ten story building and somehow miraculously lived it was because he was too stubborn to die.
And passing out fell under the same criteria as he tried to hold his breath to keep from passing out, and simply tried not to pass out or die from a breaking neck.
Neon found it a struggling task the longer it went on.
In a rush of panic, he elbowed Live in the gut.
