Mary watched as spiders crawled on the ceiling, ranging in sizes from normal to a small car. Mary changed the settings on her gun to flame thrower and aimed it up and set the ceiling on fire, sending the whole world above her into a fire image of potential hell.
Jason watched the flames from above and the cremated bodies of arachnids fall to the ground.
Mary turned off her flamethrower and put the gun setting back on her arm brace. "Spiders, sir?" she wondered, spiders this large were usually a creation of the witches.
Jason kicked one of the broken looking spiders and frowned. "Certainly looks like something of the witches," Jason informed, he could hear the flames flickering above and the sounds of goblins as they continued to raid the base. Some of them didn't even seem to have an objective, just to destroy and disorganise, he watched as several ran past a door like a bunch of brats.
Mary found them the most amusing of the foes they faced, those types of goblins bothered the OCD demon more than the ones who actually attacked him.
"Why is everything attacking?" Mary asked, "And why all at once? Why this many?"
"A Representative is in our care, Mary. While these types are stupid, they know the power of numbers will provide a distraction to take the Representative. And let's face it, Kid would be much easier to steal if she was in someone else's care."
Mary couldn't agree more, the Travellers never had anything stolen from them ever. There were a few occasions, but they only allowed creatures to steal certain things.
Mary looked around, using her mind, she travelled down several halls, and she saw goblins and elves and spiders. But there was nothing else within the base.
"The Clan Captain isn't here," she informed.
"He's not far away," Jason replied opening his compass to reveal a smaller picture of the ugly beast, "He's slowly becoming late however."
Mary rolled her eyes. "Sir... do you expect to have Kid in our possession after this?" Mary asked seriously.
Jason closed his compass. "Right now Mary, it's a race against time, time being our enemy until a ray of light comes for the morning and this nightmare can be done with."
Something crashed somewhere, not a shattered vase crashed, it sounded like something was bashing through a wall. "Speaking of on time..." Jason mumbled as his sword extended to its full length once more and he stalked out of the room, Mary quick on his heels.
Kid continued racing through the halls, running past bratty goblins and zipping through the hallways to evade elves and spiders. She continued running down one hallway and was stunned at the stomach wrenching horror of the creature that stood at the end of the hallway. Their big feet stomped on the ground as it turned to Kid's direction.
Move, panda!
Kid launched herself to a bookcase and pressed her back against it to hide. She heaved her breath as she heard it stomp closer and closer. She hugged her shoulders and felt herself tremble in fright.
Live, I'm scared!
Hush my panda, Live said, Just play hide-and-seek with the odd creature.
Kid bit down on her lip as she screwed her eyes closed. All the shadows in the hallway and nearby raced to her aid and dressed themselves in her shadow. Her shadow became too big and started attaching to her skin and stretching up her body until her physical being practically disappeared.
She didn't dare open her eyes as she remained standing there as the monster continued down the hallway without looking at her.
Kid didn't move for a long time after the monster was gone, she watched as several harmless goblins had raced past her.
