~ Ten Years Later ~
Omniscient
Time is intricate.
It tells... In the growth of a person and finding of a friend. In the experiences that change everything, and the love that shapes.
Withering here or evolving there. Staying, or going. Or coming back...
Time is a simple rose.
In color it changes, and varies, its growth and existence inevitable, and its beauty right before the eye. Intricate, to those who really see. In both its thorns and its petals, in its pleasure and its pain.
Telling you, without any words, to handle it with care...
"Alright cool, let me ask my moms," Genesis spoke to her friend over the phone, taking some comfortable clothes from her closet on the way to her bed. "Don't worry, I'll be there in a little bit. Just hang tight okay?"
"Dude I'm losing it over here," Maya sounded stressed, making Genesis chuckle.
Maya was the most 'Type B' person she'd ever met. The definition of 'I'll find something' or 'I'll figure it out.' Which had surprisingly worked for her through all the years that they'd known each other, since middle school.
It worked on the day of Junior and Senior Prom, and apparently high school graduation was no exception either.
"I'll call you when I'm on the way," she spoke while slipping on some black leggings and a cropped zip-up hoodie.
Maya scoffed. "You haven't even asked yet, Gen."
"That's my business don't worry about that," she said, having her friend chuckle amidst her putting on some slides before leaving her bedroom. "Gotta go- love you bye."
"Love you bye," the girl sighed just before her friend hung up the call.
Eighteen years old, now, she ambled down the hall that she and her twin brother shared. With his bedroom on one end and hers on the other.
In contrast to hers, Gianni's room was all neutral colors, mostly. Whereas Genesis lived and breathed vibrance, and art.
Posters of her favorite films and favorite records hung up on her wall amidst green vines and warm lights, strung across the ceiling. Her guitar sat in the corner, the accent piece to the current painting she was working on, right beside a shelf of medals and trophies. A canvas was propped up on a wooden stand near the large window, which beheld a window seat that took up a bit of space along her wall. Accompanied by plants, and greenery, which were right below her array of hanging drawings and projects that she'd done over the years.
Decorated was the entire space, inch by inch.
Knowing that one of her mothers was already in their home office, she waltzed downstairs with a hop in her step.
Colossal and spacious was their living room and kitchen. A modern farmhouse style, with the most plentiful of natural lighting and open flooring. All while the dining room was secluded and impressive, too, all on its own.
The entire house was about three stories and commodious in square footage. For they had a fully furnished basement and a three car garage- where Gianni spent most of his time, tinkering- and a fully furnished attic. Which was Genesis' art studio, mostly.
Gasping at the sight of her mother cooking in the kitchen, she went to lean over Milan's shoulder with an excited smile.
A little taller than her now, she watched the woman make a full breakfast over the stove. Which was a treat, nowadays, for they only ate a full feast of home cooked breakfast on Sundays, as a family.
