"Dad! Dad! We should have a fancy dinner tonight!"
Power suggested, jumping up and down excitedly.

"A fancy dinner?"
You asked, not sure if it'd be in the budget.

She nodded,
"Mhm! We all wear fancy clothes and have candles and salad and steak!"

You laughed,
"You know salad's made of vegetables, right? The leafy green kind?"

There was a moments hesitation in her decision, but she stood her ground.

"I'll eat it all! ...probably..."

You crouched down to your little girl,
"I'll think about it. But why do you want to have a fancy dinner?"

Sparkles were practically shooting from her eyes as she explained a scene she saw on TV, a happy rich family all eating together and laughing.

You smiled at your girl, patting her head,
"Well then, if you get your brothers on board, I'll see what I can whip up,"

She thanked you with a hug before running off to sell her idea to her brothers, leaving you to think about the prep work you'd have to do. You weren't particularly fond of the idea, but you wanted to do what you could to give your kids a childhood full of happy memories.

"...and we can wear fancy clothes and talk all fancy and pretend we're rich!"
Power took in deep breaths as she finished her proposal.

"Do I have any fancy clothes?"
Denji asked, holding Pochita in his arms.

"Dad bought some for us about a month ago when we met grandma and grandpa,"
Aki explained.

Denji thought for a moment, getting Pochita's council before making a decision.
"Me and Pochita wanna do it too!"

Aki didn't see a reason to object, so he also agreed. With the approval of her brothers, Power rushed over to tell you the good news, and you soon found yourself at the grocery store figuring out what you'd need to buy.

"Hm, maybe I should invite Quanxi over, she'd probably bring some food..."
You spoke quietly to yourself under your breath.

Would the kids like grape juice? You'd imagine they'd have fun pretending it was wine, but you weren't so sure what their opinions on the flavor would be.

Eh, it was half off, why not.

As you kept on shopping, you found yourself getting just a tad bit worried about your kids. The grocery store was only a ten minute walk from the house, but you were still worried something might happen to them.

What if they set the house on fire?! What if there's an earthquake?! What if someone evil tries to get in through the door?!

You shook your head. No, you taught your kids better than that. They could handle this.

Still, you found yourself running home.
