"Clary. Clary, come on. We gotta go." Simon tells her.
"Simon, I think Jace and Leya, my sister can help us." Clary tells him.
"What?" Simon asks as Jace and Leya walk over to the church.
"Come on." Clary says as she holds his hand and leads him to the church.
"How do we know this Mick Jagger-looking guy, or your sister is even gonna try..." Simon says.
"Jace. Shut him up." Leya says to him harshly.
"Mundane, we do not have the time." Jace says and then he and Leya leads them into the church.
"Come on, Simon. Let's go." Clary says as they walk inside.
"I know. Trust me." Clary says to Simon as they watch Jace draw a rune on him for Simon to be able to see the institute.
"He's, like burning himself. Buddy, what's going on, man? I'm not your type, man. I don't even..." Simon says as Jace grabs and holds his hand once he's done drawing the rune.
"Shut up!" Leya exclaims to Simon and Jace lets go of Simon's hand.
"Where are we? What the hell? Clary, is there a war going on that I don't know about?" Simon asks.
"There is now." Jace says and then he and Leya walk further into the Insititute.
"I think my mother's at the center of it." Clary says and then follows after Jace and Leya.
"Our mother!" Leya calls out to Clary.
"You coming?" Jace asks Simon.
"Yeah. What is this place? There's a lot of gear in here. What'd they do rob a tech shop? So, these cold-blooded killers are gonna help us?" Simon says as they walk over to a monitor and Jace pulls up the security cameras.
"They're not killers. They're protecting us." Clary tells Simon.
"Specifically, you. It's sort of our thing." Jace says.
"Your thing? You guys have a thing?" Simon asks.
"Of course, we do." Leya says.
"He means a Shadowhunter thing. That's what they do, protecting the humans from demons." Clary says.
"Demons, right. That makes perfect sense, because there are demons running all around New York." Simon says.
"Finally, he says something useful." Leya says.
"That is the first correct thing you've said all day." Jace tells him.
"Won't they find us?" Clary asks.
"No. Our wards will deter them. And the NYPD will do their typical mundie thing for a few hours and then the area will be clear." Jace says.
"What is going on? Why is there a mundane in the institute?" Alec asks as he walks over to them.
